  1. There is also a wall behind where the Normanton stand was, where you walked in towards the pop side turnstiles. Corner of Vulcan street and Harrington Street. That looks like it might well be old?

Anybody seen a pic of that area before it was demolished? I used to enter the ground there every home game ?

  2. A bit of basic budgeting, a first team squad of say 22 players at an average of £8k = £9.1 million. then add in current academy costs of £5-6 million, plus under 23 players and under 18s that must be another £1 million. That's at least £16 million in football costs before other staff costs and costs of running the club and stadium.

Then add in payments to creditors due under the business plan.

Expect turnover to be £15 million if we are lucky, based on average attendance of maybe 20k. That's what CK will need to budget on.

I cant see us being able to pay an average of £8k wages, and anybody currently over that and under contract will probably have to go. I'm expecting a first team squad of 22 at an average of £5k per week.

Don't underestimate how low we have fallen ?

  3. There has been a noticeable drop in behaviour in football, and I'm afraid its the fans who are to blame. Standing in seated areas, smoke bombs, obnoxious chants, taunting of players, running on the pitch, throwing beer, coke heads, throwing things onto the pitch, vandalism.

Now we have routine pitch invasions and players being assaulted and club property being damaged. Its got to stop, or we will end up with stand or even stadium fan bans, and perimeter fencing of some sort again.

  4. He will be gone for sure, maybe to a relegated premier league team who have all those lovely parachute payments. No way we will be able to afford to keep him, with our turnover projected to be be around £15-20 million. Lets just hope any deal will mean we lose the financial liabilities (Future payments). Our wage bill will need to drop way below £10 million a year, maybe £6-7 million at best. We have creditors to pay off.

  5. The other thing to remember is that we will be on a business plan which involves making payments to creditors, if we default on that then we will be in trouble with EFL again! We are also limited to a % of turnover for our wage bill. So whoever we sign will have to fit into that scenario.

My expectations on signings are not very high!

  6. I think a lot of fans have already forgotten the financial constraints we are going to be under. If we deviate from the approved business plan then we are in more trouble. Several years of very little cash to spend I'm afraid. I suspect this will mean mainly home grown players and perhaps a few free transfers here and there.

No more big contracts for sure.

  7. We will need an experienced midfield general to pull the strings and have a bit of bite. I'd go for Barry Bannan, and look for a strong physical centre forward, another wardrobe type player. I'm assuming Bielek will be gone, hopefully for a decent fee, along with Lawrence as we wont be able to offer him decent terms.

So for me Allsop, Knight, Bird, Thompson, Buchanan and Cashin will be key players for us next season if we can keep them!

I imagine budgets will be very limited, and we wont be paying much in terms of fees.

  8. Watching the game today on Rams TV. Great commentary, but please can the awful music and adverts music be changed Even better lose the adverts, on what is a "Not cheap" streaming service. Music is really grating that random thumping bass, not pleasant at all. I turn the sound off for adverts at half time.
