    I think he’s off isn’t he (Couhig)?

There’s a rumour DC is looking for an investor (group). It’s the rational thing for him to do: keep the stadium and (gradually?) sell the club. But the genesis of the rumour may be wishful thinking. I think if that doesn’t happen we’ll be bumbling around in the championship until we happen upon a wunderkind manager. That might be a very long time

There’s been lots of press recently about US billionaire investment into the PL and EFl. That’s what we want imo

Watched a fair bit of the MK Dons v Crawley game the other day and was really impressed with Klaidi Lolos.  Greek international, can play up front on in midfield and has very tidy feet.  TransferMarkt has him valued at £125k.  Worth a gamble??

    LOL.

I'd sign him for the name alone.

I'm surprised the player can get to the Greek team from that level.

  3. Without any figures, I'd expect it to be low and used to Adams and 1-2 others with small transfer fees. Add multiple loans and around half a dozen free transfers and we should be around there.

Just a guess, but I'd expect us to use the "transfer" money like last season: sign so-called free transfers, and pay higher wages for more quality. Free transfer is a misleading term though.

How much do you honestly think we’d get for him given he’s played less than 30 senior games and most of them at non league level? I can’t really imagine it’d be enough to make much of an impact on an enormous rebuild.

I fear that if we sold him now we’d get very little for him and he’d go on to make a real impact at another club. For me we keep him and, if the coaching staff think he’s ready, include him in the first team squad. If they think he still needs a little more development then send him out on loan to a league 1 team.

I'm afraid you are asking the wrong person, I have zero knowledge about player valuation and I've never seen the lad play.

If he is half as good as people here are saying he is and a multiple teams after him, then maybe he might cover the costs of 2-4 players' wages a season?

No matter, what decision we make, Brown needs to play. Either with us,  on loan, or sell him with a hefty sell-on clause. His skills might improve with just training, but his value would not and that's one of the mistakes our club has been making with upcoming youngsters.

  5. My guess is that we sell him this summer.

The rebuilding is enormous and we need money. He might be the one to go because we don't have many sellable assets.

It doesn't matter, do we aim for quality free transfers again over cheap deals or not, we might need a dozen new players who do not only replace the leaving ones, but they have to be an upgrade as well. For that to happen, every penny in a war chest helps.

  6. Serie B promotion playoffs have some interesting emphasis on league position. It sounds complicated but it is not and at least the success during the season means something. Taken from wiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serie_B:

The top two teams are automatically promoted and the third-place team is only automatically promoted if they are more than 14 points clear of the fourth-placed team. If the third-place team is not more than 14 points clear of the fourth-place team then the teams from third-place to eighth-place enter a play-off to decide the final promotion spot.

The preliminary round between fifth and eighth and between sixth and seventh is a single match on the ground of the best placed in the regular season. In the event of a tie at the end of normal time, extra time will be played. If the game is still tied at the end of extra time, the highest-ranked team goes through, without taking a penalty shootout.

The semi-finals are a two-legged competition with a first leg at home for the teams that played in the preliminary round and a second leg at home for the third and fourth-placed teams in the regular season. In the event of a tie in the aggregate result, the best-ranked team in the regular season progresses to the final, without extra time and penalties.

The final is played between the winners of the semi-finals over two legs, the latter at the home of the best-placed team in the league. In the event of a tie, the best-placed team in the regular season is promoted to Serie A, without the need for extra time or penalties. If the two finalists have finished the regular season on equal points, the second leg includes extra time and penalties if required.

    He’s only 19 though.

    If he listens, he’ll improve.

    I should've been clearer.

I wasn't commenting about his ability, never mind his potential. My critique was aimed at the video and its poor editing. Scouting-wise YouTube videos are only good for checking the shooting technique so not worth much.

Bit off-topic, but on the subject of Elder, I do think there's still plenty to come from him. I concede we've only seen flashes of ability to date, but I've a hunch he may yet prove to be a far better player than some credit.

He's obviously had his issues this season, but I'd not be surprised to see a different player if he can put his injury niggles behind him. If he can, then that also opens up the possibility of Sibley playing in a more advanced position. FWIW and counter-intuitive as it may sound, I'd fancy Louie more in an attacking role at Championship level, than at L1.

Regardless of position, I'd be delighted to see Sibley in our team next season.

  9. Noh really a suggestion as such but Bielsa called up Walter Dominguez, 24, from regional level team Juventud de Soriano to Uruguay’a national team.
He has 57 goals in 39 games this season.

Someone’s is going to take a punt on him.

ps. Worth acknowledging that this side will be only from Uruguayan teams and 4 big ones are missing from those due the cup.

For the Danish league I looked at teams who win the ball high up and are slightly more direct to think of who Warne could be going to watch. Hvidovre and Viborg rank 4th and 5th in that metric and played eachother yesterday. I wonder if Warne and his staff were there to watch.

A stand out player for me after looking at the squads is Anosike Ementa. He has 10 goals and 4 assists in 31 games this season. Hes 22 years old and stands at 6 foot 6. He has 2 years left on his contract but I don’t think would cost crazy money.

He works very hard and to show that he beats Collins for both possession won in the final 3rd per 90 and interceptions per 90.

He also has only missed 5 big chances all season which would tell me he’s decent at finishing aswell. His chance creation is also high for a striker. Cant see why Warne wouldn’t love him.

Good shout but what makes you think he wouldn't cost much? The last striker they sold was Grot, who had had a great season when sold but overall their stats are roughly similar in goal in every three games. They got almost two million selling Rot and I can't see them asking much less for Ementa, therefore I'd think he is out of our price range.

I said it earlier and I'll repeat it. Whoever we are after, I fully expect him to be a free transfer. The Danish market isn't cheap.

    Ah, the great Richard Keogh.

I remember being ridiculed here when I said he doesn't look much of a captain to me. He was blaming others for his own mistakes, mostly Bogle, maybe because he was an easy target as a teenager. Blaming others is not a sign of leadership or being an accountable adult, never mind a captain. I don't want to piss off our supporters so I left it there, but in hindsight, you could say, there's a difference between blind support and support. What we are witnessing with the notts forest is blind support and I wish we never get there again.

Later we learned that being accountable is hardly his strength off the pitch either. With that night out he also showed how bad example and guidance he gave to younger players.

Just reflect on it a bit: Keogh whining and mutinying to Morris about Pearson. It's all just pure toxicity and such persons shouldn't be close to our team ever again. Big thank you for Clowes and his recruitment. No wonder I kept losing my love for the game.

Keogh was a decent Championship footballer though. Shame he wasn't much of an adult. Maybe as a pensioner, he can grow up now.

Not even close to being the most off-topic post in this forum! 😄

Obviously, the place for this would've been elsewhere. I posted earlier that attention to detail is Warne's and his team's strength but also I can reveal that it wasn't my key strength as a football manager. 🙂
