Glad I goto game, reading some of the comments on here are embarrassing, stopped after a couple of pages.

Good entertaining game for Div 1, getting out this league is what it is all about, not entertaining our Googlebox fans.

Not defending Warne tonight, but we definitely played with a back 4 until after Hourihane scored….didn't we?!

Well two are injured, ones loan finishes at end of month, so that leaves not many, you basically have NML, Barks, Collins and possibly Wilson, who is being used as a make shift winger.

We have no replacements for them, so I'm not sure there is really many to keep happy.

I think there are 2 or 3 posters who are just wind-up merchants and I tend to disregard most of their comments. They seem to get off on criticising individuals at the Club, in particular Bradley and Warne, not so often Collins nowadays who each week is now managing to keep them quiet.
I'm no fan of playing 5 at the back but without Nyambe today, Warne's hands were somewhat tied and putting either Ward or Wilson at RB could have seriously weakened our defence if put under pressure by Fleetwood. For the one goal we did concede, Bradley must shoulder some of the responsibility for not being tighter on the scorer but Cashin was in no-mans land 4 or 5 metres in front of Stockley and with no-one to mark. I'm a huge fan of Cashin and thrilled we've activated the one year extension to his contract but he has to shoulder some of the blame but hey, much easier to make Bradley the sole player responsible.

Those saying that every time Bradley plays, it's a disaster, need to look at the results. Yes, he's not made the impression we expected but the only 'disaster' defensive wise in the last 11 league games has been on New Year's Day, one of the few games in that run when he stayed on the bench.

    Hopefully if it suits us.
I can see why he would do it for a one off, we did today and it worked!
I'd also say it's probably due Nyambe being away as well. We recruited for 3 at the back in the summer and had to scramble to get a RB in to be comfortable with 4 at the back, now that RB is away for a few weeks, no one to really play that position with Smith out as well. So we've got a dilemma, which led us to 3 at the back today.
We're going to be a bit hamstrung with our defensive options till Nyambe returns, unless we bring a loan in.

Surely resting him against the perceived weaker teams makes more sense, so he's fresher for the challenge against better defences in a few weeks time, if we play a back 4 he just doesn't provide enough help defensively out wide, so he should be in behind/alongside Collins if that's the case, which TJJ can play, or Sibley or a returning Waghorn, again, against a perceived poorer defence it would be ideal to get one of them some serious minutes to get match fit and confidence levels up.

One big concern for me is the man love PW must have for NML, he needs resting, same as last season, which he didn't get then either and he became a shadow of what he was capable of from January onwards, massively contributing to our drop off in form IMO.
1st half he was nowhere to be seen defensively to help Forsyth, allowing them to pull Fozzie out of position and leave a huge gap which was exploited, the 1st goal came from this.
Both Oxford and yesterday, he didn't appear to have the spark he was showing early season, looks leggy and short on that blistering pace, also poor decision making when he has the ball, is this due to fatigue also? On several occasions choosing the wrong pass or not releasing it at the right time so promising positions petered out.
Was very surprised to see him out 2nd half tbh and not be subbed early when it was apparent he wasn't improving, not for the 1st time in recent weeks also.
Hopefully getting a viable option to replace him/take some load off him in Jan will give PW the nudge to take him out when not performing.

I think Burnley's problem is they aren't playing that way since Kompany took over, but trying to play controlled football through the middle (as the top 2 or 3 teams do) but with inferior quality players, too good for the Championship but not good enough for the Prem.
The Burnley reference that @deanoakaram4lifemade  I think was when Dyche managed them......

They'll be lucky, they paid £3.5m plus add ons for Matt Clarke from lg1 Porstmouth in 2019, a player in a similar position. We also have the option of a further year on his contract, so even if he left then in 2025 he would still command a compensation fee which I believe would be in excess of your figure of £1m.
In the club's current position, it wouldn't be worth risking the chance of promotion for such a small fee. Added to that, there is likely to be competition for his signature with Hull and Birmingham plus others reported to be interested.

I’m in full agreement with you on this one.
Last night Wildsmith gave away a very poor penalty in my opinion, rash to rush off his line, left himself exposed (ooo matron), then had a choice to make to either shepherd the player away from goal or take him out….silly. But he won’t be ridiculed and derided for it like Ward has been for his recent brain farts, and the same for Bradley since those early fixtures.
He’s come on in plenty of games as part of this unbeaten/winning run and helped us get over the line. His introduction and the subsequent tactical change of shape last night helped us get the win.
They’re doing their jobs as part of a squad to help the club get back up the league, I will never understand the need for people to scapegoat players relentlessly.
