I wasn’t sure if I could possibly say anything comforting here. But also couldn’t just leave it with a like on your post. I’ve been thinking about you over Easter, and have everything crossed for your second scan.
Whatever the outcome though, it sounds like there’s some hard decisions to come.
Life absolutely sucks sometimes. But at some point in the future, could be a year, could be 5 years, could be ten years, you’ll be happy, and you’ll look back and wonder how the hell you got through this. But you did. And whatever has happened, all the good, and the bad, has got you to that point of being happy, whatever that looks like. it might seem like a long way off, but it’s there waiting for you.

You guys who weren’t at Crawley in 2011 for our glorious third round FAC exit are clearly plastics. Terrible game, and my umbrella gave up the fight after only 15 minutes. Soggy prawn sandwiches are yuk.

I kind of want Leicester to go up now. Start with a 10pt deduction and have to sell a load of players with no chance to buy. They might have half a chance of beating our record then. 

Chesterfield are already promoted which should restore at least one to the list. They were crowned champions last week with 5 games to go, are on course for over 100 pts and have scored over 100 goals, a remarkable achievement that seems to have slipped largely under the radar since the National League returned to obscurity after the promotion of Hollywood fc last season.

I think we shared the record for longest stay in the championship too. Along with Forest. So if we can share a bit of their fortune, form, whatever and follow their trajectory, that would be nice.

I agree, it could have been better, but literally everything went to form.  That makes it an average day in my book.  
I guess we just have a different outlook on life/football/DCFC?  I don't think that makes either of us wrong. 
I've seen today's results.  I'm not jumping for joy admittedly... but I most certainly ain't having a s*** day!  🤣

It'd be terrific if Ipswich confirm promotion before Forest's appeal is heard. "Impossible? I put it to you Mr De Marco that far from being impossible, Ipswich Town have shown that it is anything but impossible! Appeal dismissed. Have another -4 points for your arrogance."

On a tangent, but how amusing would it be to see Leicester bottle promotion after being so far ahead and with such a financial advantage over others...

Yes they hold the record along with us.
We've both reached the playoffs a record eight times and only been promoted once each. They've only reached the final once though.
I'd say we're both due a bit of success.

To hopefully really draw a line under this, I think you’re both right. It was a 💩 day in terms of the results BUT it was no more of a 💩 day than we were realistically expecting. There, will that do it?

My situation is nothing in comparison, but it has been a difficult 12 months for both of my kids (29 and 31) with messy relationship breakups (fortunately no kids themselves), and we also lost our dog late in February. We, the wife and I, are still coming to terms with that loss. I post this not for any reason other than to say I agree there is much more to life than football. I had fallen out of love with football many years ago, and I think after the emotion of the club being saved I personally found last season an anti-climax. This season has bizarrely been unexciting for me, even though we have been riding high in the league. This is perhaps down to my age, the finding of other interests, and spending a lot more time offering love and support to my kids as they ‘rebuild’. Whilst I wish they hadn’t had the difficulties they have experienced, selfishly (perhaps) I am pleased to have been able to spend more quality time with them, making it more evident than ever to me that family and friendships are more important than overpaid young men kicking a back of wind about 😉
I still keep an eye on the games via this forum, and online viewing, and if we go up I suspect I will be thrilled and celebrate as hard as most on here. However, where I suspect I differ to many now is if we do fail at the final hurdle I won’t be down or too disappointed. It’s only football after all.
 
 

I would like to see the Premiership allow Man City to appoint their own club match referee.
The club referee would travel home and away with Man City and referee all their games, the referee would be paid by how many points Man City accumulated over a season.
This change would not affect FFP but it might dispel, once and for all, of any notion that there is any fairness in football.🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
 
 

I wouldn't describe today as a 💩 day.
Far from ideal of course, but it's all gone to form.  No surprises.  Every one of our rivals have done what was realistically expected. 
I've only seen results, not details, but I'm assuming none of them fluked it? None were handed the points from a man in a black kit carrying a brown envelope?
Only our own hopes, prayers, and blind optimism would have forecast any of today's results going any other way.
Today has simply gone to form, rather than our wishes.  It's not a good day... but it's unsporting to our rivals to label it a 💩 day.
Our 💩 days were the woeful defeats at Northampton and Reading.  The home defeat to Wigan. 
Only a 1-1 draw at never before scored a goal Cheltenham.  Arguably the "undeserved" defeat at Bolton.  There's probably more!  They were all 💩 days.
Anyway... Here's hoping tomorrow makes today "Not as bad as it could have been"!  🐏 🤞

Man Utd are so s***!! And I heard Ohara on talk sport talking about how they could make a late charge for the too 4. They’re literally closer to 12th than they are to Tottenham. Just cos they’re in 6th doesn’t make them any good. And they’ve scraped through most games to get them the few points that they’ve got. Every time they beat some nothing team like Everton, it’s all ‘oh, this is the turning point for United.’ No it’s not. They’re just crap. One half decent result isn’t going to change the 20 appalling performances. Beating Liverpool in the cup makes no difference when they get dumped out by Coventry and get out played by Brentford in their next game.

They had several transfer embargoes in the days before points deductions, not to mention several winding-up petitions for late payments. They were getting away with it for years before we ever got charged.

To be fair they are living the dream, spending 250 million with an annual wage bill of 148 million and they held the giants of football Crystal Palace to a draw. They must be ecstatic. 

Is that really a good look for the prime minister to be posing for photos with an alleged drug smuggler? What has the PM gained from that. Maybe a couple of votes from the 3 or 4 Forest fans. But when marinakis eventually gets convicted of something, these photos are bound to come back like trump and Epstein.
