I've assumed Dixon is with the first team. With no signings, it would be Dixon and LThompson providing the cover for Shinnie and Bird.
Wilson could still be injured or struggling with the off-field stuff. Either way he needs more time.
Stretton definitely in the first team and has returned to training. Duncan awol.

Lost 2-0 but still missing a lot of senior U23s. Bench was full of 16 year olds.
Cashin, Williams, LThompson, Dixon, Wilson, and Cybulski missing from the squad. Hutchinson will likely be involved a lot with the U23s this season too, with him being on the fringes of the first team

We're under embargo for 4 reasons. 3 of them rely on the EFL being happy with our accounts / P&S calculations. They clearly are not.
The other one was HMRC. It appears we had hoped a payment towards clearing the full amount would have eased the restrictions. Either we haven't paid it yet, or the EFL won't ease restrictions until the full amount is paid.
There isn't much we can do at the moment.

This CB partnership gives a big hint towards the first team selection which will be announced in 20 mins. Its good to see JBrown back, who must fancy his chances of having a run in the first team this season.
If my memory is correct, Wilson is the only player we haven't seen in pre-season yet. Hopefully, his recovery is going as expected.

If you haven't been watching our friendlies, then you won't know it's been Lawrence starting in the middle, with Morrison/Hutchinson/Watson on the left. Sibley is essentially Lawrence's backup as things stand.

The PL give £350m to the EFL each season. Roughly £250m goes to 7/8 clubs in the form of parachute payments each season. £100m goes to the remaining 64/65 clubs.
My proposal would be to redistribute that more evenly, let's say £250m to Championship clubs, £75m to L1 and £25m to L2 (currently £325m, £17m, £11m)
Sliding scale based on performance (league position) over the season
- Championship clubs get between £8.4m and £13m
- L1 clubs get £2.3m to £3.9m
- L2 clubs get £0.85m to £1.3m
Only 7 of the 72 EFL clubs would be worse off, with the others in a much healthier position. perhaps enough for a shift towards clubs making a profit. P&S rules should be altered so that the £13m average allowable loss become £0 over time.

I'm struggling to believe Mel would be happy with us starting the season without a single senior CB

Morrison has at least demonstrated his ability at first team level, albeit briefly. 5 goals and 2 assists in 21 games for West Ham in the first half of the 13/14 season, with 6 goals and 2 assists in 17 games for QPR in the second half of that season as they beat us in the playoffs.
Duncan's career highlight to date is finishing the 18/19 season as the U18 PL joint 3rd top scorer, level with Whittaker having played more games.

He's the type who needs to play off a big CF and cannot play that leading role by himself. The only place he can play in a 4231 is the AM role, but he hasn't got the all round game to play that in the Championship
With the lack of options in our squad, I expected him to start challenging for a first team place. I suppose he was told Kazim, Baldock and Stretton will be the first team options this season and he didn't think he'd get a chance. Plange has already performed better than him at U23 level too. WIth Cybulski stepping up to the U23s this move works out well for both parties.
