Tyler Walker would be my top free transfer option based on age and record when playing regularly. Only down side is he isn't any better in the air than Collins or Washington. Godden would be a better player overall, but only has 2 years left in him. 
Smith would give us something very different two out current CFs. However, he's pretty unreliable with the ball, losing the ball often by having a poor touch or losing it from dribbling.
My top choice overall is Aaron Pressley. I thought Brentford would be looking to loan him out again, but it seems they're open to selling him this summer instead (only 1 year left on his contract). Supposedly can be signed on a 'free' but with a sell-on percentage. He's a monster in the air, better all round game than Smith too. A lot of competition for him from L1, L2 and Scotland.

Yes. Still only a 2nd year scholar, but will be one of many who will be in the U21s a year early.

His turn in form coincided with a horrendous studs-up assault on his thigh in the match against the Trees. 

I’ve heard we signed him a week ago but they were not allowed to show photos until he had grown some semblance of a beard .

It helps that he's the most two footed player we have in the squad. He would often take set pieces with his left foot when playing for thr U21s/23s and you wouldn't notice it was his weaker foot.

Your statement that no sane organisation would pay a third choice keeper who isn’t going to feature infers the club isn’t acting in a sane manner, which seems a little misplaced. 
Football clubs typically operate with 3 senior goalkeepers, it’s nothing new and something that must surely have been budgeted for by Derby. If Wildsmith or Vickers got injured Loach would be on the bench, he may play in one of the 3 cup competitions we have also. 

I'm not exactly sure what your point is. On one hand you're arguing that Warne shouldn't have said anything because we've been forced to accept a lower offer than we wanted, despite other teams being interested. Then on the other hand, you're arguing that we should have accepted less money because it wasn't worth waiting 3 weeks for more money.
In this league, every penny counts. We've accepted a figure which we're happy with.
Loach has his own role to play, even if that isn't actually on the pitch. We aren't the first or only club with a 3rd choice GK who is unlikely to feature.

You answered your own question. That £50-75k could be the difference between us landing a target rather than him going to someone else for more than we could otherwise afford.
