Ram@Lincoln got a reaction from BarrowRam in Thank you Mr Clowes.
Just shows that the smallest of jobs makes a huge impact. The place was covered in grime and filth, so sad to see it go unloved for many years. Under the American's they jet washed the stadium 2-3 times a year, it's probably never been done by Morris despite the millions wasted elsewhere.

George Nunn on a 2 year deal, ex Chelsea
Foulkes, Dixon and Aghatise on 1 year deals
Grewal-Pollard, Solomon and Cybulski 1 year extensions triggered. Alife Roberts, Olamide Ibrahim, Rhys Brailsford and Cian Kelly Caprani step up to the u21s.
Seems weird seeing u21s again, after it being u23s for a while! -

Ram@Lincoln got a reaction from jimtastic56 in Question for the boss
Over £200m if all finance boffins are to be believed. Nobody is stupid enough to deliberately go into anything wanting to lose hundreds of millions. Whether you're loaded or not, losing what a third to half your net worth in a few years is madness. As someone put, we we're so close to promotion twice, QPR then Villa. If we'd had won either of those games, this wouldn't be the issue now and Mel Morris would be the hero.

Ram@Lincoln got a reaction from i-Ram in Question for the boss
I've met Mel on various occasions at work conferences over the years before and during his reign at the club. He's always come across to me as someone trying to be on the edge of the next big thing, similar to Elon Musk in a way. He struck gold with the dot.com boom for the dating website and then again with Candy Crush, you could call it luck certainly but the old adage 9/10 businesses fail is true. He's been there and failed many a times, but the riches gained from successes far outweigh the losses....until now.
The smug aura as others mentioned grew exponentially during the Derby years as result from lack of any challengers, apart from Sam Rush and we all know how that ended! If he'd been humble/modest enough to accept that he didn't have all the answers and let the superb executive professionals he had under him manage the club, we definitely wouldn't be in the position we are now. If your face fit - great, however if you toed ever so slightly out of line it didn't matter who you were, it was P45 time.
@ramswriter podcast recorded a brilliant podcast with Chris Holt a couple months ago about the atmosphere working under Mel Morris and the administrators. Definitely worth a listen if anyone hasn't, it's very honest and revealing to what really went on behind closed doors.

Ram@Lincoln reacted to Day in Thank you Mr Clowes.
Remember when Mel Morris did this, it was labelled as a PR stunt.
It’s possible whoever was advising him, mentioned this point.
Football fans are very fickle by design, don’t spend enough money, spend too much, sack a manager, don’t sack a manager, whatever they do will lose confidence in their ownership.
Whilst David Clowes is riding the crest of the fan wave right now, at some point he will dip as the season(s) go on, it’s best not to leave any crumbs that could be used against him further down the line.

Ram@Lincoln reacted to Wolfie in The Administration Thread
Not unless you're a shareholder, no. Rightly or wrongly we're all just customers paying to be entertained, at the end of the day.
Open up the business plan to fan scrutiny and you'd get 20,000 different views on whether it's right or not. Plus you'd open it up to all our competition. Nothing to be gained from it IMO.

Ram@Lincoln got a reaction from Crewton in Recruitment, make do and mend!
Also shows the wonders of having a former professional footballer doing the recruitment, they know what's needed. Not some young lad in a job purely through relation to the owner or manager. I know a few lads who used to work with him in Worksop when he did driving instructing, very hard worker and attention to detail was to death.
For you oldies, he's a member of the FA Cup semi final team for Chesterfield, cracking tie at Old Trafford - with VAR now he would've scored and they would've won. Seen at 3.20 in the video below, I went with a old school friend - was right behind the goal here. Obvious goal for sure.

Ram@Lincoln reacted to Dai Capp in Recruitment, make do and mend!
If our business so far is down to Pete and Jon then I'd suggest the early signs are that they've been a damn sight more effective than previous recruitment teams!

Ram@Lincoln reacted to roboto in Matchday Thread friendly V Bradford (A) 9th July 15:00
Can you give over slating two young lads who did their best for us last season?
Even if you’re trying to be positive about what the future holds you always seem to be able to have a snipe at those young lads.
Starting to sound like Craig Ramage…

Ram@Lincoln reacted to duncanjwitham in Conor Hourihane - Signed 2 year deal
The Huddersfield forum over the last week: https://downatthemac.proboards.com/thread/117530/conor-hourihane
"YES! I've always rated him and he is a wizard at set pieces. Now we are talking"
"Really think he would be a good fit for us, intelligent player, great delivery, scores goals."
"Would be awesome for us"
"High wages? that lets Derby out then."
"I’m sure we can compete with his current wages!"
"Having a medical at Derby"
"He wouldn't have gone to Derby if we had wanted him"
"Does/did anyone on here actually want him at Town?"
"never in for him just speculation"

Fantastic news if we manage to sign Davies for another season or two. Fantastic captain and leader.
Just need to agree a new deal with Fozzy next.

Sounds like Rosenior was a big part of the pull for all three. Make the bloke permanent manager!

Another one who just hasn't got a clue

Ram@Lincoln reacted to Nuwtfly in New signings, who will be first...and next?
No, very reliable. I actually used to work with Pete, and Graeme Bailey, and can confirm they’re both very good.
I think the best thing about this signing is not just the obvious things he brings on the pitch, but the pull this might have for other players who are thinking about joining us.
It’s a real statement of ambition and a great sign that this rebuild is very much happening!

Ram@Lincoln got a reaction from Rammy03 in Conor Hourihane - Signed 2 year deal
The difference this time around is that the club will be paying affordable wages within the agreed business plan, they won't be paying huge fees to their agents and all these deals are all without the ludicrous transfer fees being on free transfers. The names you mentioned are reported to have cost over £15m in fees, plus whatever agent fees and then mammoth wages. This time is different.

Ram@Lincoln reacted to Kernow in Conor Hourihane - Signed 2 year deal
He’s right actually. I don’t think it’s fair for us to exit administration as per the League’s rules, then continue to operate for the next couple of seasons under a pre-agreed plan around recruitment as per the League’s rules.
