bcnram reacted to RoyMac5 in Substitutions too late or not .
It's not the when often, it's the who and why? There's times the subs come on and it seems like no formation you've ever seen or recognise. 😄

bcnram got a reaction from Ramchop in Paul Warne appointed as Head Coach
My main fear is that he fills the team that makes his style work.
I like to think that our expectations are that the team plays with a modicum of passing ability, not the kick it long predictable tripe that he has got the team playing recently.
I think his managerial style is more suited to Rotherham, Barnsley & Wigan type clubs (no offence meant to any of them).

Warne's not the man to take us forward.
Why the hell did he change our tactics in the second half, going back to the archaic hoof ball rather than the quick passing football we played in the first half? I just know he couldn't bear the fact we were playing decent football along the floor in the first and wanted to go back to hoofing it every third pass.
Normally the second half's under Warne, he gets outfought tactically by the opposition manager, but not today. MK Dons didn't even do anything to stop us playing like we did in the first half in the second, Warne just decided to go back to his god awful tactics of hoof ball. Then our "Plan B" is pass to Mendez-Laing and cross. It doesn't work.
I was actually really pleased with the first half and was hoping we'd turned a corner in terms of tactics, but that second half made that hope disappear quickly.
Then you have his neglect of the academy which is a discussion for another day.
If the last 3 months are anything to go by we're in for a long, boring 3 and a half years of shocking football.

My concern is that I’m starting to think the mix of good football and direct football that we saw during the unbeaten run was more a hangover from Roseniors instructions and now we’re aimlessly launching it forwards with very little in terms of incisive good play on the ground.
Let us be very clear, despite a tough start we had the higher xG than our opposition in every game under Rosenior and it was our finishing which was woeful.
I think what worries me is we’re all hoping that he gets some players in that’ll make his style work and we’ll be successful but the other option is we fill the team with absolute cloggers and athletes at the expense of technical ability and we’re shown to still be falling short but we’re now left with a squad full of hoof merchants.

Why should it have been 0-0?
Surely if you score and they don't, you win!

bcnram reacted to Bris Vegas in Poll: what do you think of it so far? (Warne's tenure)
I like Warne. Find him down to earth, easy to listen to, passionate, clearly an intelligent guy.
But I’m a bit disappointed with the football we play under him.
I may be alone in this.
But I preferred Rosenior. We may still have lost 0-2 to Ipswich, but we probably would have done so with a greater outlook as we dominate the ball, create more chances, give the younger players more game time.
When we lose under Warne it’s just depressing. The football is generally crap and we look like we have no real identity.
When we lost under Rosenior (especially at Charlton) we still looked a good side.
I thought we were looking good under Warne but the more you analyze it, you realize our amazing run was down to playing crap teams more than anything Warne actually did.
Under Rosenior we picked up two points from Lincoln, Shrews and Fleetwood away. Horrible results. Yet in the reverse fixtures at home under Warne, we still only picked up two points and arguably played worse.

We are so predictable in everything that we do. At times it was a shambles. Both of those issues come from the manager.

bcnram reacted to plymouthram in Style of football?
I did prefer Liam Rosenior style of play and with the players he recruited, given more time it would have got better. Since being at Hull City his league results are not outstanding, but he took on a struggling team that were one point off relegation but in his 21 league matches in charge, Hull have only lost 5 times and are currently 9 points clear of relegation. Building from the back, keeping possesion, having more possession means the opponents don't have the ball to hurt you.

It is proving to be a bit of a repetitive issue. Opposition change things and our Mr Warne doesn’t seem to have the ability to counter it.
It is a problem.

bcnram reacted to Ghost of Clough in Liam Thompson - Scunthorpe loan until end of season
The thing is, in my opinion he ticks 2 key Warne boxes.
1. High work rate. This is supposedly Warne's key requirement from any player
2. Good range of passing. Warne apparently likes to mix it up, although in recent weeks it's been less of a mix and more hopeful punts.
We also have a small squad. The reluctance to use Tommo has been incredibly disappointing, especially when we've been missing our most important CM in recent weeks, our only experienced CM has been in desperate need of a rest for several games, and one of our other CMs was out injured for significant run of games.

I don’t think it’s provocative, they are enjoying their bit of success.

Some slating Hourihane is laughable IMO
If we wanted players who will run through brick walls and have constant energy like Knight for example we would not have signed Hourihane at all
He has scored some good goals and assisted quite a few as well so guess what ? if you take him out I don't think it would help.... He has never been a marauding CM and has value on the pitch for me as long as the other mids balance it out
To say he is one of the worst signings ever is a joke quite frankly....Mikkel Beck , Bob Malcolm , Derek Hales , Claude Davis , there's plenty of players deserved of that title and Hourihane is not one of them

My random thoughts on yesterday:-
Worst home performance since Scunthorpe in the Nigel Clough years for me.
Starting team selection was wrong.
The substitutions 2 minutes before half time humiliating for the players taken off.
Davies cannot be starting matches anymore.
Cashin is having a really rough patch and its culminating in us conceding 2 or more goals on a regular basis now.
Bird didn't look back up to speed.
First 4 substitutions didnt have much impact.
Dobbin looked like he might make something happen.
The difference between our target man and their target man was night and day.

I just worry that Warne and Rotherham are like Nathan Jones and Luton.
A gaffer that performs brilliant results with an unfancied side that punches above its weight.
