    Daily mail ...

Rooney is ready to walk away from Derby if they are relegated to League One

The Rams could be relegated if they get a retrospective points deduction

Rooney has made it clear privately he does not want to manage in League One

As it stands Rooney has only nine senior players to work with for pre-season

Every cloud has a silver lining...

  2. Just an idea, but could us fans start a petition to pass on to a local MP or the Sports Minister raising the EFL's unfair treatment of our club?

Some of the things the EFL are trying to impose seem very shady to me. I don't think it's in the rules they can relegate us over a month after the season has finished. The statement they raised last night could dramatically affect our chances of signing players or getting a takeover completed.

All of this seems really unjust, and a shade illegal to me.

  3. Surely we have strong grounds to take the EFL to court for victimisation. What they're doing is causing confusion and bad press which affects our ability to sign players or get a takeover bid through. It also upsets our fans.

I don't think there is anything in the EFL rules where they can relegate us over a month after the previous season is finished.

In my opinion, the EFL are a corrupt organisation that needs putting down a peg or two.

It wouldn't surprise me if they start paying officials to make decisions go against us.

All of this has totally sucked my enthusiasm for football out of me. If this is lingering on in to the new season, I can't really be bothered with it all any more. Wake me up when all of this rubbish is over!

  4. If we'd have spent on the right sort of players, then it would have been a gamble worth taking. Most of the signings we made though were badly planned, overpriced and really bad value. The likes of Butterfield, Blackman, Camara, Anya, Shackell, Malone and Jozefzoon were all ridiculously overpriced. Even Johnson and Waghorn were way too expensive too. That for me is Mel's biggest mistake of all, having the wrong scouting setup.

  5. I just hope that whilst we've got this back and forth going on before a final decision is made that we're not under more transfer embargos. We need to act quickly this summer to get some good players in - we can't leave things until the last minute this time.

  6. I liked Lampard when he was Derby manager. Just didn't like the way he dithered about the Chelsea job at the end, that ruined our pre-season.

It's interesting to note that Wayne Rooney (19 points) has secured more points from his first 12 match as Derby manager than Lampard got (18 points), remembering that Lampard had the luxury of having the likes of Mount, Wilson, Tomori, Keogh etc to choose from.
