I think this is all about negotiations, my thoughts are that they are negotiating a penalty that we will agree to not appeal as both parties want to put an end to this. I am expecting a 3-6 point deduction maybe some of it suspended based on failing to file accounts, little bit of FFP, failing to pay bills. Things put together that we will accept.

too many maybes for any of us to know, maybe the accounts aree in and approved without penalty but the EFL ant to know a bit more based on the recent TV allegations?

Hard to see a suspended deduction coming into play then again it is the EFL who make it up as they go along

meanwhile Reading FC failed their P&S and are under an embargo but no point deduction - no one has a clue do they

they will be under investigation same as us, it will end and if points are deducted it will be a decision made by EFL or DC with an inevitable LAP.  Seems obvious that this is the tried and tested process?

Why is it awful, there have been 'constructive discussions'. Isn't that better than the EFL saying 'duck you hand them over we're gonna do for you'?

Afterall the date was just plucked out of thin air, so better we get an agreement and then hand them over, it's just taken a bit longer than guessed.

you enjoying this then?  I would have liked full effort to get this done early not late, I guess we are trying to push the envelope again

Villa turned us over 3-0 and 4=0 in the league.

    They were big favourites.

I'm not surprised Frank used a plan like he did and it nearly worked. Not for the first time, individual mistakes cost us goals whereas we had to work hard to get a few chances.

I don't buy the "throwing the game" theory as it is predicated on us playing a whole game in the style of the one half we played at Leeds.

Agreed.  I did think at the time this would only work at 0 0.  I was very surprised when he didn’t make the subs at half time.  Little point in playing those tactics when we needed a goal or 2

I thought it was because they wouldn't (or maybe couldn't) pay Frank what Frank thought he was worth?

Maybe also they thought if they messed about a bit we would get desperate and sack him and then they would save on compo, never thought it was down to Frank

And didn’t they get charged for not following EFL instructions? The EFL are going around basically telling clubs who they can select and who they must sell - Jack Marriott another example our £5 million pound player ( good or not) who we extended his contract only for the EFL to cancel it and we lose a £5 million asset - something very sordid going on.

    his value was 0 though

Sorry if this sounds completely miserable. I’ve being thinking about where football will be in 10 years time? The ever growing gap between the premier league and the rest of us, at what point will the bubble burst and teams just start disappearing, being unable to afford to compete or even operate?

Rather then drag out some long winded depressing paragraph I’ll simply ask you this, should Derby cease to exist and there be two leagues left in English football, your nearest local club being someone like Leicester ruddy city, do you give up on football?

Do you have kids?  The future depends on whether they will still want to support a local team though not much think and a lot of thin.  I suspect that will not be the case and the powers in charge will get what they want with a smaller number of better supported teams.  Lower leagues will be used as feeder clubs and I do fear promotion and relegation will be scrapped

    WHAT?!?!?

But he's terrible! I've seen many anonymous people on this forum say it so it must be true

What the hell is it with these 'professional international coaches' thinking they can just pick a player? Eh? Why don't they check in with people on this forum who obviously know how terrible he is?

The point many have made is that he is not cut out for a championship dog fight, that's all.  I still have seen nothing in his shooting that gives me any confidence he has any skill there sadly.  Love his low centre of gravity and sharp turns but now he appears only to be looking for the foul and dives too frequently when he is naturally adept at drawing a real foul (the pen against Wendy).  For all concerned he needs to go and we need to recoup our money.  Please not another one that sees out his contract and goes for nothing

I think you're underplaying the importance of a manager. Look what Leeds's manager did with a bunch of Championship players. When it's 1 or 2 players who aren't quite right you could put it down to the individuals issues, but if it's pretty much the whole squad you have to question other things.

Also I could be wrong but I don't think Byrne and Marshall are that close for it to be affecting Byrne's performance.

linking Marshall to Wigan really.  I don't think there are many conclusions to be drawn from the performances to criticise or support WR but really, it can't be much fun for any of them.  By the time WR took over Leeds were so far ahead of us after bashing us at home under Cocu.  We will never know but even the great Bielsa would have a job making a silk purse out of the current squad.

This ludicrous position lies in the hands of one man and it isn't WR

I don't think you are getting my point. I agree they are individual mistakes. But I am saying that individual mistakes happen more often in an environment that is conducive to mistakes. My point is that, over time, the amount of mistakes that people make comes down to their mental state, which is heavily influenced by how they are managed.

For every goal in every game you can point to a mistake which caused the goal. From that point of view every defeat is down to individual mistakes. But if players on one team (wearing white and black) keep making more mistakes than their opponents then that is a management issue.

only part of the story and management only influence to a degree.  Perhaps Byrne is dreading another Wigan experience or is upset how Marshall is being treated.  There maybe off the field problems that are affecting him.  Joz unhappy being here, homesick, wishing he had never come because this environment was not what he was told.  Just the standard of players we are reduced to having may be prone to more mistakes.

There is not much to show that WR is making a positive difference but I can see that he has been given a mountain to climb

Wouldn’t surprise me if our accounts go in and the EFL are in no rush to read them or when they do they are not sure what to do based on what they did to other clubs in the same time period as they did to other clubs either at that time or when they actually dealt with it

it’s a mess and unlikely to be simple

The accounts may already be in we don’t know, maybe it was discussed at the meeting?  Not sure anything will happen on the day

Krystian Bielik played the full 90 minutes.

He got injured in the win over Bristol City a week later, and our first game without him was the 3-0 defeat at Rotherham United.

After Bielik’s injury we have won just four of 22 Championship games (Wycombe (a) Boro (h), Huddersfield (h), Luton (h)). Lee Gregory started all of them.

After Gregory’s injury against Luton we’re winless in nine. He also missed the defeats against Coventry, Millwall and Stoke City. Hence our record without Gregory or Bielik starting is 2 draws and ten defeats from 12 games.

All the factors and stats suggest that until Bielik comes back we’re bang in trouble. Our only hope is we’re not too far adrift come January.

    You are correct, sorry

Tbh until Morris goes and Pearce goes and the strangling of the club is gone the attendances will hover around 16 thousand for this season. I’ll still be there but I don’t blame fans not going and giving a crap when the owner doesn’t give a crap either. Until as such time the accounts get submitted and he’s gone and we have a fresh start it’s going to be toxic around the place. I had more fun going to the 07/08 season and this is where we are at now. No entertaining football on show, can’t buy a win how many did we win at home last season. Couldn’t score in a brothel in open play. We need the top gone and a new management and coaching staff to come in with a new takeover. Start a fresh and move forwards

Not selling season tickets will ultimately hurt the club, easy to decide not to go

What is the value of Derby county.

Rumour has it Mel is looking to sell for 50 million, he's not getting that.

So what is Derby county worth at present, I would like Mel to sell Derby for 20 million because I think it will encourage a buyer.

Mel might hold out for an amount but how much, 30 million.

Mel has destroyed Derby by selling anyone he could get money for, under a transfer embargo, he's guilty of making a team incapable of competing at the championship level.

A team that's of no interest to buyers.

In its current form who would pay 50 million for the club.

Mel is paying the wages, the moment he stops, for evey month wages are not paid, Derby lose 3 points, is that correct?

So if he did not pay for 2 months, that's 6 points and Derby are relegated.

With the team Derby have now its highly likely the club are relegated, so that doesn't help Mel.

It's time he sold for less, but how much?

Didn’t I read on here that he had lent 140m to the company that owns the club and that needs to be repaid.  I have no factual knowledge of this and merely repeating it ( it may be bs)

It seems blatantly obvious what they are trying to achieve. They are stopping the spread of Covid until a sufficient % of people have been vaccinated. We've been told on here how the federal government messed up the vaccine supply.

In the UK, we have about 30k deaths in a bad flu year. We've had 130k Covid deaths in 18 months (and 1 winter). The flu argument is really odd. It's not just about stopping avoidable deaths. It's about stopping 1000s and 1000s of avoidable deaths.

Is there any relationship between flu and Covid.  Flu is pretty well understood even the flu jab anticipates what next year’s virus will look like.  COVID is new and we are vaccinating against known variants.  Do we know yet whether this will settle down into an anticipated cycle or could there be a more potent variant on the way.  Happy to be corrected if I have something wrong
