In fairness, the 2017 and 2018 campaigns we headed into the playoffs as underdogs. Fulham, Leeds and Villa were all better sides.
The biggest regret we can have are the 2013/14 and 2015/16 playoffs.
We were better than QPR, Hull and Sheff Wed. Much better.

Well Q are waiting for some fool to come along (CK) and pay what they say they want whilst the three potential bidders who have run and owned football clubs won’t pay that much with good reason so I think Q are delusional whilst stopping us having new owners one way or the other. I am sure if MM hadn’t put us into administration we probably would have been sold by now and would still be in the championship. Being in administration has totally and utterly hamstrung us within a bunch of EFL rules and administrators who seem unable to sell the club or even have sensible, clear and open dialogue with the supporters, the EFL and potential buyers apparently.
I am very concerned, 9 months in administration and we should have been sold by last January. The supporters, the team and management team didn’t fail when needed but I’d say the administrators and EFL have failed when needed to do what was expected.

Not posted on since the good old days.  But for the first time today I am very worried about my derby county, I have followed them since I came to live here in 1974 and the only engment  I had was through the rams , myself and my late father and brother all derby through and through,  I'm the only one left now
And if this was taken away from me
It will finsh me.  So I pray ?
Please please save this great club

Not interested in this in the slightest..
will view it as i do the league cup an unwelcome distraction and chance to get injuries from the real season objective.
providing we’re about to have a season objective

Morning squad. I've been radio silence on here the last few months for two reasons:
I can't add anything on the situation between just sorrow I've been working on something new For those who don't know and for those who don't care (understandable, no complaints from me) I produced a book called Pride in 2020, which went into the last 20 or so years of the club. That was nice, but the issue is that for those 20 years we were pretty awful. So I wanted to work on something new and a bit more feel good. And so...
I'm really, really pleased to say that my next book will go live in Autumn of this year and it's titled: Groundwork: The Inside Story Behind Jim Smith's Derby County.
Just like Pride, it's told from the behind the scenes perspective of those incredible few years and includes insight from around 60 former players, coaches and staff members at the club. From Igor, Eranio and Sturridge, through to Steve's McClaren and Round, it delves into what made that time so special. But more than this it focuses on the work of Jim as a manager and crucially, as a man. I've spoken with the creators of Prozone, the first sports psychologist in British football, the first fitness coach in the game, to evaluate how pivotal Derby (yes, Derby) were in the evolution of football in this country. And there is also a section remembering Jim himself, including thoughts from his family, as well as close friends like Harry Redknapp and Howard Wilkinson. There's even a Graham Richards cameo or two.
I know there's a lot of continuing nightmares around us at the minute, but hopefully this brings a bit of joy and memories of what this club can be. ?

    Portsmouth fan here in peace.
I'm guessing that some of you will have seen that we have previous with Andronikou involved as an administrator with us; and fair to say that those of our support who remember him hold him in utter contempt.
I sincerely hope you manage to rid yourself of Morris' tenure and are able to move on properly from all this without him having any control over any of the assets your club needs to move forward.
Look after yourselves - and hopefully when we meet next season things will be on a bit more of an even keel for you.

Trevor Birch worked at Derby County and now he wants to save us after the EFL inflicted untold damage on the club.

I await to see what happens with Derby County as we all do .
Love the Rams and can’t really believe where we are right now.

B4 - don’t let that be the case. I know it’s easy but me to say, but you’re better than that.
I don’t always agree with your posts (I love the pink shirts ?) but your enthusiasm for Derby County is an inspiration.
You have friends on here who will stick up for you. Think about them rather than the bullies.

To add to that u would think that commercially it makes little sense
come buy a season ticket and watch derby with a -15 point deduction and may or may not get relegated
hardly going to get bums on seats is it

Man claims to have sent money. Money doesn't arrive.
Man claims money has been sent but the delay is anti money laundering check.
    Money never does arrive.
    Logically there are two options.
    A, it was never sent.
B, it failed the anti money laundering check.
Whichever was the case, was that really someone we wanted owning our club?

I would imagine it would be highly inadvisable.
I'm an extremely passive person, but I've never hated anything or anyone as much as him for what he's done to this club and city. I'd imagine if he was caught out by the wrong person at the wrong time, it would not end well for him.
I would hope he moves to a different country and he's never seen again.

What the hell am I reading?
Are people actually forgetting the role the EFL have played in the legal proceedings against us that rumbled beyond the last transfer window and put everyone off making a bid for us.  Delays that saw us lose Jagileka and a goalscorer, plus half of our amazing academy.
And that's after the legal proceedings against us for the ground etc that led to the delays that led to the late points deduction that led to the legal proceedings that led to nobody putting in a acceptable bid until a month or so a go.
The fact we didn't go down the season before was 'regrettable'.
Blame Mel, absolutely, but to call the EFL the boogeyman or a smokescreen shows a complete lack of understanding.
    Christ.

Shoutout to Ed Dawes, by the way. I know he gets a lot of stick and divides opinion, but the news he broke earlier this week has really set the wheels turning.
Whether it’s true or not, it doesn’t really matter now. What it has done is put a rocket up the arse of many people. I think Quantuma would probably have continued to just wait for CK’s money to land, which may or may not happen. But since Dawes’ reports, additional parties are being given the chance, Quantuma’s practice is finally being questioned in the media, and the EFL have stepped in to try and speed things up and more importantly, stop Quantuma ballsing it up.
We will never really know for sure, but his actions might well end up saving our Club.

I’d say a successful owner is one that doesn’t send a club in to administration at the minute…but I do think he’s been hard done to by Newcastle fans.
He bought them in 2007, if you look at the table in 2008 and how many of those clubs are no longer Premier League (or at least suffered a relegation in that time) you’d get Villa, Blackburn, Portsmouth, Middlesbrough, Wigan, Sunderland, Bolton, Fulham, Reading, Birmingham and Derby (I think West Ham might have even been down in that time too?).
So 11/12 teams also have been relegated and I’d say only Villa and West Ham can say they’re better sides when he sold them.
We could easily be talking about Newcastle falling to League 1 rather than Sunderland/Portsmouth/Bolton as they were all just as good as Newcastle around that time.
It’s extremely difficult to compete in the Premier League unless you’re spending ridiculous money and even then it’s not guaranteed (look at Everton).
Not saying he’s my pick as I wouldn’t be happy with -15 points, but if he was to take over then I think I’d be optimistic in where we would be in 3-5 years time. If I’m honest, Kirchner scares me a lot as it’s just all so unknown and if you read Slync’s staff reviews of Kirchner on Glassdoor it’s concerning. Appleby is a good medium for me, tried and tested but (hopefully) without -15 points.
