  1. Good luck for this afternoon, I hope you get it over the line for a number of reasons, and the odds are in your favour. I hope you don't mind an outsider saying this, and I'm sure you all know this, but regardless of any euphoria or disappointment tomorrow, you'll all still be proud supporters - as b4 was, and is. As someone who read on here for a while before I registered/posted and saw lots of his comments when you were in a bad place; I stand by the fact that whoever we support, we could all do well by being a bit more like him, when it comes to our clubs.
  2. Well done Rams, looks like the top-of-the L1 table will be an inverted version of the D2 one from 86/87. I'm sure most of us on either side would have gladly taken that at the start of the season. Enjoy your evenings!
  3. I can't help with tickets, but I hope that: a) your Dad's progress continues; b) you manage to get him a ticket for the final day; but most importantly that he continues to progress his recovery. You don't need to tell him a Pompey fan sends him best wishes, but I'm pretty sure if others from the 92 saw this note they'd all be saying the same thing. Love to you and yours.
  4. Agree almost everything here. My take is that Bolton's worst emissaries on the main social networks have been particularly hard work (I've not engaged, but have seen some of the material) - though completely agree that, as in every sphere, each club has their own outliers. On the injuries, I'd add that we've had the worst season I've known for injuries - including several key performers early on being ruled out long-term or season long; it seems to be a theme for a lot of clubs this year. I've said before I want you to get up with us. I'd quite like to see Lincoln make it through the play-offs, of the remainder.
  5. Thank you for the gracious comments. I'm a bit *ahem* tired and emotional - it's been a relatively long wait for us to get back in to the second tier. I'm rooting for you to get over the line and other results this evening appear to have been in your favour. Good luck and raising a glass to B4.
  6. Well done on your win and putting things back in your own hands. I thought we were fortunate at times today, for some reason our early goal seemed to send us in to our shell; Bolton have some decent footballers, who exploited that for the rest of the first half and we were lucky not to go in behind. Second half a bit more even. All the best for the run in - as I've said elsewhere I'm hoping we'll both end up in the automatic slots now; but I do think you're probably at the stage where you can't afford any slip ups in the last couple of games. I've just poured a large glass of red. Enjoy your evenings, Rams.
  7. Happy to chuck a small donation in for a great cause - and to remember your brother/mate/fellow Ram b4. Take care of yourselves and each other.
  8. I would have come on last night but I'd had a few 'settlers' before the game and followed up with a couple of glasses of wine when I get in to decompress - so was less capable of typing than usual. Proper game of football last night - not sure whether the conditions were a leveller or just added to the spectacle - but suspect both sides were happy with the draw, whilst wondering what might have been. I thought you were set up really well (credit to both Warne and the players for executing) - you looked better than any of the other top sides who we've hosted this season. I genuinely hope we both make it up via the automatics. Take care of yourselves, Rams. Hopefully see you all next season in the league above.
  9. My guess would be Swanson and Lane based on Saturday; but is only a guess. Kamara and Ogilvie (mentioned upthread) would be bigger losses. Best of luck for the rest of the season after tonight.
  10. It wasn't a regular haunt of mine, by any stretch, but I have fond memories as I ended up in there after the midweek game in which we secured promotion to the Premier League about 20 years ago. Proper, old-school pub as you say. Thankfully we still have a few of those (for now).
  11. I'm afraid it's gone 😞 The official away pub is The Good Companion - a five/ten minute walk from the ground. Decent sized - but standard Greene King pub. There are a few pubs nearer the ground that are probably fine if you're not in away colours and/or well behaved - though the John Jacques (Wetherspoons) near the station is probably not a great idea. Other than those really near the ground reckon you're okay regardless.
  12. Yes, Mason is a Pompey fan; went to school in Waterlooville/Purbrook.
  13. Looking forward to Tuesday; should be a cracking atmosphere under the lights with you bringing down a full contingent. Two proper football cities going head-to-head. The season I really got in to it was the 86/7 season in the, then, Division 2. I'd rather the top two positions were reversed, but would gladly take the same overall outcome.
  14. Pompey fan, in peace. I read (a lot) and posted (a little) when you were having issues with the ownership. I just wanted to pass on my belated condolences for B4's passing - as an outsider it was clear how much he cared about your club. It's lovely to see how much warmth he commands and how he's being remembered. I'm sure it doesn't need explaining that I hope my club gets up, but having read some of this thread I hope you manage to make it up with us. It's also a great reminder that football clubs are all about the people who support them. Raising a glass to Daniel this evening.
