Was a season ticket holder with my dad for umpteen years. 
since he passed its a few games a season with my now 8 yo daughter whos only semi bothered atm. 
 
just find it too difficult and quite often make myself go cos its a bitter sweet experience. 
 
i hold millions lf memories of our time together watching derby county. So sometimes i find it nice to go back and re live them a little.. sometimes its not.. but its just something i have to do and know he would want me to do

I used to go with one other, until he divorced my sister and we went our separate ways. Then took my young grandson, but that’s not the same. The last time I was part of any regular match day group was over 40 years ago, when we were all teenagers!
For the past 5 or 6 seasons I’ve been a regular lone matchgoer save for glory hunting family for the occasional big game. 
I guess what I’m trying to say is that yours is not a scenario that I can even relate to, yet it still brought a lump to my throat. 
I guess you guys have a lot of history, and a million memories between you. 
I guess this is more massive than it may appear to some giving a casting glance.

Yep, for sure. We've got a horrendous record when it comes to spending big, and that's across decades. We got one good season out of Vydra, and scraped a profit. Lawrence was sporadic but you could argue we got our £5m worth,but we're going all the way back to 2000 and Strupar for the last time a solid chunk of change was actually good, and he didn't even have a back.

Great post and agree, i was never a johnson fan. But that was probably becuase i was oh so aware we had spunked such a massive amount on him and players of his ilk we’re appearing at other clubs for a fraction of the stupid money we shelled out for him

Yeah I’m really embracing the excitement. Tbh, I prefer the wheeler dealer nature of our trading these days over the 2015 Mel era where you knew we would be blowing millions. It feels a lot more exciting knowing it’s low risk but you might find an Ebiowei or a Mcgoldrick and all the signings can’t really fail to meet expectations as there are none.
When we were signing Johnson et al, they were doomed from the start. I’d say in hindsight Johnson was a decent player for us but I always thought he was gash because of the price tag

Oh i see, my guess would be there will become a point in time where the price will settle. More people holding it, the more stable it would become
you can from its first few years the price now is less (hard to beleive) volatile than it was.
There are suggestions its halving cycles (read up on it please, not u, anyone reading this) are getting less pronounced
The more people that want to hold it long term the more stable the price.
but thats what i mean by saying we’re v early on the rollercoaster … stability i guess would follow from adoption
