I take it they must have had a narrow defeat then, it was 0-0 at the 70 minute mark when i last looked.

Yesterday was a desperately poor result but the way I see it is that we’d rather be seeing those results now than in May. It’s something we can recover from.
We haven’t lost ground on Plymouth and Wycombe haven’t gained ground on us. We are very much where we deserve to be and likely to end up being - in the playoffs. Whether we finish 3rd or 6th is immaterial.
All teams have games where every slip, trip, bobble, wobble, bounce and deflection goes in the opposition’s favour and every mistake gets punished. It was just one particularly bad day at the office. We have had four of those in 23 league games under Warne, so there’s no need to panic.
It’s all very well saying Warne needs to correct things or learn from defeats, but what more can he really do?
We have to remember that Warne is working with what he’s got - a very small squad with good quality but one that is having to rely on players playing out of position and young players to fill gaps to function even slightly.
There is no use in getting worked up and there is no use coming down like a hammer on Warne and the team.
I am sure Warne would love a colossus in midfield and I am sure Warne would love to rest 5-6 players but he doesn’t have that luxury. He is doing his best to troubleshoot from within.
We have 14 games to go and 9-10 of them look very winnable. The scaremongering after two rare defeats seems extreme.
Six points at PP this week and we can quickly move on from this.

Must be nice.  We've pretty much beat you by 3 home and away since I was born.  One of those where in the old days you have have bought a copy of every paper the following day for posterity.  Get yourself at the newsagent by 7 tomorrow or they'll all be gone.

It’s a depressing result for us, but it’s important to remember that Barnsley are historically, one of the best teams in world football.

Could’ve bought a ticket yesterday as an away member but got a pass from missus to take my old man on an overnight trip, therefore nervously waited for general sale. Was on at 10am, buying tickets in the middle of my 1 to 1 with my boss - she’s a football fan so was cool (although she’s a red dog so debatable as to whether she’s a football fan)
Needn’t have bothered and if I’d held back could’ve avoided the signing section in the corner. Can’t wait though, a new ground for me, could be a pivotal game in our season, but Barnsley first - will take some to beat that time under Billy when we took 9000 (I’m probably exaggerating), what a day that was.

We couldn’t get inside last Saturday. All of the tours had sold out.
We really liked going to the Turf Tavern. A pub tucked away near the Bridge of Sighs.
There is also a rooftop bar at the top of the Ashmolean.

If the site is correct, we are closing in on 1500.
When you consider it’s a Tuesday night, on TV, and a good 4-5 hours down the motorway, that’s an excellent turnout.

I didn’t realise the ground was so far from the centre!
But if you plan it right, it can still be a good and complete day out I reckon.
Arrive in Oxford at 9-10, walk to the centre, have breakfast, do some sightseeing, have a pint, and get a bus / taxi to the stadium at 1:30, perhaps?
You will probably still get a good feel for the city. The centre isn’t particularly big.

It’s great to get back to winning ways and a good confidence boost before another big test v Barnsley next week.
I am not sure we should pay too much attention to the table at the moment. It will just cause undue over analysis - too much excitement or worry.
We’ve got to get to 80 points and go from there.
February going into March probably signals our toughest stage of the season with seven games in 28 days. Four really tough away games (Barnsley, Plymouth, Oxford and Peterborough) and three home games which look routine but will become more pressurised if we struggle away from home.
I think we’ll find out all about Warne and this group of players and their promotion credentials in the next few weeks.
Personally I have been encouraged by this week’s response.  One loss hasn’t become two or three. So I think we can feel confident even if we do slip up v Barnsley or Plymouth, for instance.
PS. snap up tickets for Oxford away. It’s such a lovely city and day out.
