That looks like one of those 19th century formations with defunct positions like ‘half back’
Bloomer would fit well into that team
-
Boro and Wycombe obviously
Spurs annoy me - I’m not sure why they’re considered as one of the ‘elite’ teams in the country when we’ve won the league more recently than them
QP Rangers too because that play off final let them get away with financial stuff we were hammered for

Given a suspended 5 point deduction
https://www.efl.com/news/2022/december/efl-statement-coventry-city
QuoteCoventry City has received a five-point deduction to be suspended for the remainder of the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 season, after the Club acknowledged that it had breached EFL Regulations relating to pitch maintenance, which led to the postponement of August’s scheduled fixtures against Rotherham United, Wigan Athletic and Huddersfield Town.
Coventry City will also pay compensation to the away Clubs along with associated costs of the EFL investigation.
Coventry City have also agreed to make a substantial donation to Middlesbrough Football Club.
The sanction was imposed in accordance with the terms of an ‘Agreed Decision’ which has formally been ratified by an Independent Disciplinary Commission Chair as per the requirements of EFL Regulations.

Does it matter what Birmingham want? If there’s a recall clause in the contract why do we need their consent to use it?
not to get all Steve Gibson on them but wouldn’t we just be following what was agreed?

Apparently he has won 4 games in 24 matches against the top 10 teams in the world.
If this stat is true then it’s a bad decision to retain him as manager.
That stat is slightly misleading as it includes friendlies and doesn’t include Croatia and Germany. I know Germany aren’t great these days but beating them in the euros was still a monkey off England’s back

Though it is a team game, 90% of cricket is a bowler v batter 1v1
think Stuart Broad called it ‘a team game played by individuals’ which is probably about right -
Only Steve Gibson knows for sure what restrictions we’re under
-
Wayne might have been a contender but he's stinking up the MLS at the moment.
Also his style of football was slower than Southgate's so maybe not ?
-
Any chance of Steve Gibson taking legal action against the nation of France?

We need Ben Stokes to take penalties
-
Tbf haven’t we had like one ever competitive win over Burton?

I assume all the good ones are in Qatar. The commentator seemed a lot more balanced than she was.
I think ITV just wanted a cup upset
her man of the match choice was odd though

Fair play to Warne for changing the system at half time and making some subs to change it.
Gareth Southgate take note please

Mexicans regularly create among the best atmospheres at a World Cup.
They are the sort of side who would never win it, but they have it in them to beat anybody in the world.
they’re co-hosting the next one. Would hate to have to play them in Mexico City in July! -
Starting for Poland today

Southgate is infuriating.
would I swap Paul Warne for him? Absolutely not. And England is supposed to be the top job in English football!

Bit unfair to make us play two games at once. I bet this was Steve Gibson's idea
