Where's the new signings? Warne is the problem when it comes to attracting players, particularly young players who like to play possession football

Dodged a bullet there, the midfield offers very little. Fair play to hourihane for the winner, but we have zero control of games. I think is by design, have no desire to play through midfield. It just looks horrible.
Wilson was excellent again, Collins offering so much more this season.
john Jules dissapointing, wanted him to start for a while but that was poor. Yet to see elder have a decent game as well.

Ward has to come off IMO - diabolical decision making. He's a liability currently.

If we had come away from the game 1 nil winners I would still have the same opinion that yes Warne is doing a great job getting the results he is paid to do, but have I really enjoyed a game this season and come away saying how well we played, unfortunately the answer is no, I can’t honestly say I have enjoyed one of our performances yet this season which is sad 😞 

On Saturday we were restricted to one broadcast camera with a secondary RamsTV camera that was at pitch level. 
(We always do our own pictures now whenever possibly as I don’t trust the EFL feed to not go to pointless replays when things are happening).
The extra overhead footage came from a non-broadcast source that we were able to get before the end of the programme to show, though Barks & I were able to see it earlier to comment.

lets get this straight - I can not want PW as manager of Derby County and not hate him. Flaming hell man.

I’ve put on here previously I’ve met PW and found him to be a really down to earth nice bloke. Far more genuine than the interviews - that’s my opinion. 
 
I have always written on this forum that with three promotions you can’t really deny he is a good manager. 
 
my issue is that from what I have seen and for various reasons I don’t think he’s the right manager for Derby county. That doesn’t mean I dislike him or think he is a poor manager. (Didn’t like his Mardiness  though in the interviews) 
It seems clear he has changed/modified his tactics to go through the middle as an option, to play more football as well as pinball wizard and the crosses are so much better now. Selection makes more sense now too - mostly!
 
if we had started the season like this there wouldn’t have been the ‘outcry’ at some really tough performances to watch. 
 
Now we are seeing what we knew could and should have been, in my opinion, seeing performance wise it’s fair for us that would prefer a different manager to acknowledge the improvement without throwing a party as we feel there is still room to grow and we are still baffled by some of his decision making that makes me worry that the current improvement is potentially temporary (it may not be- I hope it isn’t) as it’s not his natural fit and he may revert back once he is back on solid ground - so to speak. 
 
I hate rishi Boris etc but I don’t hate real people. never hated anyone in Black and white and never will. God forbid.

Pretty sure MM would have lost enough money on managers he sacked to compensate for another season or two funding. Stick with the same manager for longer periods and give them the opportunity to succeed and you don't have a bigger turnover in players.
It was a flawed business plan from MM which has resulted in us being on this league, along with his arrogance not to play within the rules.

Random is what you want if you think you’re the weaker team and need something lucky to drop to even things up a bit.  Wanting your players to have the ball at their feet, pass it around, and trusting they’ll create something is what you do if you think you’re the better team. Says it all really.
And that’s a great clip too, it’s refreshing to see a manager clearly thinking about the game, trying to figure how to make the best use of what he has, and be willing to talk about it so well too.

Ah the classic, “that’s your opinion” argument that’s always rolled out when someone doesn’t have anything proper to say back. I could make exactly the same point about your opinion that Warne is doing a good job, but I won’t because it’s stupid and defeats the object of a forum.
And it’s not a veiled criticism at all. I’m happy to say, outright, that I do not believe David Clowes is doing a very good job at running Derby County at present. That’s not a criticism of the man, who will always be a hero for saving the club, but a criticism of his decision making. Im not calling for his head, of course not, but he’s not immune from debate. 
Replacing a young, likeable, tactically astute coach in Rosenior with a footballing dinosaur in Paul Warne, who it is now clear is not capable of managing a big club and is personally disliked by a growing portion of the fanbase, appears now to be an absolute disasterclass of a decision, almost out the Mel Morris book. That sounds harsh, and it is, because we can only see this now with the benefit of hindsight - at the time it looked a good move based on Warne’s track record, so I do feel for Clowes, I really do. But he HAS to bite the bullet and correct his mistake. Another two years of this and we’ll still be in the godforsaken league, with dwindling crowds and an ever weakening squad. Warne has it way too comfortable at the moment, which his performance does not deserve.
The lack of clear vision is also concerning. We’ve brought in aging old players, and have shown no desire at all to give academy prospects a chance. Our recruitment does not appear to have improved since Morris either, with players like Bradley and Washington taking a significant portion of the budget and contributing precious little. 
All in all, a sub par performance as chairman so far I’m afraid.

Out of both cups in the 1st round, with both games at home.  A new low in the history of DCFC. And people still stick up for this useless manager on here 
 

It's so easy to just blame everything on Warne. And lazy. He picked a side that should be beating Crewe comfortably, but the players didn't bring enough quality or effort, the grown adult footballers we employ should have enough professionalism to be able to perform better than that, even if the tactics are suboptimal. Warne isn't faultless, but why do we let the players off the hook?
