MadAmster got a reaction from Ram@Lincoln in Confirmed close season renewals, incomings and outgoings
IMO PW has known for a while how much of a "warchest" he would have. The revised business plan sent to, and now approved by, the EFL, will have evolved from lengthy talks with the EFL over a couple of months. Finally sent to the EFL once we were out of the playoffs. The EFL will have known what was in it and it was merely a question of rubber stamping what they had agreed with David Clowes.
This all means that PW can now start concrete discussions with clubs and players, safe in the knowledge that he can put sufficient on the table to attract the players he wants.
I expect to see incoming sooner rather than later.

It's hard to get into the "flow" when you're playing right back for a chunk of the season, left wing back, right wing back, DM and AM.

With any luck the new "pay over 10 months" or whatever it is will be active for those who can't afford to pay in one lump.

Bit of both, in fairness. At the start of the pushing, the ball isn't in play but it's still taking place when the kick is taken.
You can't get away with punching an opponent when the ball is out of play. Neither can you wrestle him to the floor. The only difference is that, if the ball isn't yet in play, no foul can be given. However, a card can.
I remember, 1 or 2 seasons ago, against the red dogs, we had a corner at the North end of PP. Curtis was thrown to the floor. Not a penalty as the ball wasn't yet in play. However, a card was warranted but wasn't forthcoming. Get refs to card these cheats and it will stop inside a couple of weeks.

MadAmster got a reaction from David Graham Brown in Sheffield Wednesday (A) Sun 7th May, 12:00 KO
I fear you are right but I absolutely hate the 5hithousery they call "dark arts" witha vengeance. Feigning injury, surrounding the ref, preventing the quick taking of free kicks, corners and throws by kicking the ball away or running away with it. Once a decision has been given against your team, you leave the ball alone. You do not stand right in front of the ball so the kick can't be taken. It's against the Laws of the game so why don't refs stamp it out.

All and sundry from fans (incl a Wendy mate of mine) to retires refs to pundits all say no penalty so no red.
Not seen comment anywhere on this incident on 87 minutes and 19 seconds. The Wendy player has hold of Fozzy's shirt with both hands. Fozzy's shirt is halfway up his back. The ref is looking straight at it. Gave nothing but 2 seconds later penalised Fozzy because, when he got back up, the Wendy fell over. To me, this is far more of a penalty than the one they were given. Travesty. Also the guy holding Foz isn't even looking at the ball. Another defender has hold of Dobbin and is also not interested in the ball...

MadAmster got a reaction from Comrade 86 in Free agents in the summer
Yes, the title is indeed free agents in the summer. However, you quoted my statement reply so you were answering that....... again, nice try 😉

MadAmster got a reaction from Comrade 86 in Free agents in the summer
Nice try but no cigar. The thread is about free agents we could sign. I mentioned Didzy as his contract runs out in the summer. 86 Hair Islands replied with the Python meme and "we've already got one". My reply was "Who is out of contract in the summer...". A statement, not a question.

There's some ancient wrinkly called McGoldrick who is out of contract at the end of the month.... I'd be happy for us to sign him.

Not free but Charlie George was a snip at £100K. For freebies Idiakez, Martin and Eranio are probably the best 3 we've had.

MadAmster got a reaction from David Graham Brown in Portsmouth (H) Sat 29th April
When he's on the pitch I'd like to see Collo actually try to compete for high balls, even if he knows he's not going to get the ball. It puts the defender under pressure and will lead to mistakes which might give another Derby player the chance to create something...
