A medical isn't an actual fitness test as such, it's a risk assessment of the investment. You could pass a medical with a broken leg but be considered low risk financially if low wages/fee so you pass the test, ala John Jules last season. Here's Gary Lewin ex Arsenal physio on Ben Foster's podcast explaining this; https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=785084116204227

Must be an interesting technique he has, I wonder if his length is a distraction to the opposition or used to make the saves…. Teehee 🤭

If he did fly over for the day, and we don't know if he did or not,it's possible that he had pre medical assessments carried out to speed up any future pre signing medical.Just speculation obviously ! https://thefootballphysio.co.uk/what-happens-during-a-football-players-medical-examination/

I just don't see that any potential time saved would justify 2 flights a couple of weeks before he can sign. It's bot like he's coming back again on deadline day where time is of the essence. nogbad van 50
Tombo
Maybe he flew over for the day to sort out his new living arrangements, any immigration considerations, general life admin associated with moving to a completely new country, anything like that? He's not just signing for Derby, he's moving house. Lot of stress goes into that He probably popped down to Wickes for a couple of tester pots for the back bedroom. Little mini trip to the local for a swift lunchtime half just to see what the atmos is like in there and make sure they've got a good selection on tap. The new dishwasher is coming between 2 and 4, need to be in for that. Not to mention those Arriva bus timetables are a headache, takes time to absorb all that in. lrm14, Leicester Ram, Ramarena and 11 others 1

By the time he plays next Thursday you’d imagine he’ll come over on that weekend and complete it the week of the Blackburn game.
