Why are we so grumpy

Going back to the original arguement..............

DCFC are competing in the EFL with the potential to gain access to the Premier League. That is competion pyramid we are in. The best we can achieve is to win the premier league the worst we can do is to be last in league 2 or the fourth tier. This season is only our 4th season ever in the third tier. Our worst ever position in the football pyramid is to be 7th in division 3.

On this basis if we finish below 7th this season it will be the lowest point in the clubs history.

We were in Division 3 (North) for 2 seasons in the 50s, returned in the 80s for 2 seasons, and are now in our 2nd season at this level in this spell

55/56 = 2nd (equivalent to 3/4th)
56/57 = 1st (equivalent to 1st/2nd)
84/85 = 7th
85/86 = 3rd
22/23 = 7th
23/24 = 9th (currently)

Factoring in that in the very recent past we have been within hours of going out of existence, are functioning with an owner that has absolutely no experience whatsoever and had to build a team/squad in its entirety; I still maintain that the possibility of enduring another season in League One would not be as bad or as embarrassing as the 11 point haul in 2007/2008.

Having said that, let's hope this debate is a mute point. We are playing with little quality or self belief and despite that, are sitting pretty with a game in hand which would put us in the play-offs.

Now these fans that are calling for the managers head and are demanding an automatic place, would you accept finishing in the play-offs and winning promotion that way?

The rhetoric coming from PW suggests he is feeling the pressure. I'm not convinced he will be winning any friends amongst the playing staff claiming that not one of them is playing to their potential. My staff would not be happy if I went public on them all citing their inadequacy.

The lowest points total was 8.  Loughborough and Doncaster, both in Division 2.  Even with 3 points for a win Doncaster would have only matched Derbys 11.  The also have the record of 34 for most defeats in a season at a later date.

Yes but that was in Division 2, whereas our 11 points total was in the Premier League, and in the media nothing exists outside if the Premiership, so Loughborough and Doncaster don’t get any publicity.

Syntax is irrelevant in this case, if you are unable to answer the question. I’ll make it easier for you. When did you attend your first Forest game ?

What is with all of the questions?

Is this some form of membership initiation? 🤨

I don't think my wife has asks as many questions as you do.

Semantics this may be but ‘lowest league placing’ is more accurate. I would still argue that the three lowest points of our history (in my time) were when Maxwell had to bail us out, when the three amigos were in charge and our recent times in administration. At each of those points there was the real possibility that we wouldn’t have had a club to support and I’d still take 8th in the third tier over that.

So your first visit to Pride Park or the BBG ? That must be a heartwarming memory for you ?

Past perfect: That must have been a heartwarming memory for you?

Just a quick English lesson for you.

Far be it from me to interfere... and far be it from me to even attempt to correct anybody, so please take this as intended... a genuine question, and not a sarcastic comment...

Whilst the event itself is clearly in the past, isn't the memory of that event ongoing, and ergo current?
We got a nice big shiny trophy after my first game, so my memory of that day IS (not "Was") wonderful!
Surely referring to "The memory" of the event in the past tense infers said memory no longer exists?  🤷‍♂️

Hey... genuine question, remember... no nastiness please!

Some fans just love to moan, would not matter what league we was in, heard them moaning at Mr Cox on the first day of the season we got promoted to division one, lost to Oldham  first game at home, i think 1-0, fans shouting we will go back down we are s***, Fast forward Mr Jimbo Smith, we had a awful start was at Tranmere away lost 5-1, Stimac debut, fans screaming for Jimbo to go they was saying he is past it lol, went up in the end, fans are fans, not professional players or managers, some go to get behind the lads and some go to have a good moan it's in there DNA lol. Myself mostly positive Roy Mac a born moaner lol.
