Warne hasn't just seen highlights. He has seen all of it. I think he will be an impact sub this year.

As he will have all the other players, too.

It wasn't a comment on Sibley's ability, rather on our perceptions of other players, based on very little,  really.

I would agree. Lawrence would look sensational on a highlights package

Very unsure about this as I don't know much about our new signings...

 Wilson   Nelson   Bradley   Elder

                  Hourihane

            Smith            Sibley

NML                                    Barkz

                   Washington

Bit harsh on Cashin 😉

If we didn’t take last season into consideration then Barkhausen NML supporting Collins Washington and maybe Rhodes looks good at this level and have noticed Barks is getting a bit over looked

I’m saying that because Barks is a good player and hopefully has a better run of games and form as I still think he’s decent

That will be very different when Elder, Ward and Wilson are fully fit. So far, we've been relying on CBs, academy players and DMs in the wing back positions.

Hardly ever been a wingback. Ward has shown his strength. Wilson yet to show...

Elder - 10 assists for Hull in 20/21 (L1)
Wilson - 14 assists for Forest Green in 21/22 (L2)
Ward - 23 assists in his last 2 season for Peterborough in L1, plus 11 goals.

And?

Elder hasn't played wingback. And that's why we bought the other two.

Warne said himself Elder will be a wingback in one (or more) of his recent interviews. He’s made it plain the plan is to use wingbacks and that’s what Elder has been signed for.

Yes I know that. I was just pointing out he hasn't played it.

Confused by the last few posts anyway, thought the 'complaint' was that our only source of creativity was going to be crosses. Pointing out that we've now got some proper wing backs doesn't mean that we've gained any creativity from anything other than crosses?

Although I do think Ward should be encouraged to shoot more, and will add creativity from more than just crosses.

Good crosses are 'creativity'.

End product from out full back / wing back positions was arguably the weakest part of our squad last season. However, no side in L1 for this season was as creative as we were last season, including those relegated from the Championship and those promoted from L2.

The story so far.

Just a few tweaks after the last couple of friendlies.

Well the back 6 is

Gotta play two up front in this league, so that’s Collins and Washington (at the moment)

Personally, Smith in front of the back three, get Bird further forward

                                                       Wildsmith.

                            Nelson.                 Bradley.               Cashin.

          Ward.                                       Smith                                  Elder.

                                   Bird                                        Hourihane

                                          Collins           Washington

…………………….enough to get out of this league already. 😃👍

For first game of the season with Elder, Washington, Barkhuizen expected only fit enough for the bench and Sibley not fit enough to play a part. I’d go with -

Wildsmith

Nelson Bradley Cashin

Ward Bird Smith Hourihane Forsyth

NML playing off Collins

think Thompson has done well at wing back but for a league game could see him being caught out for lack of height and physicality on the back post.
