May Contain Nuts Posted March 25, 2023 Share Posted March 25, 2023 (edited) This is what happens when you treat every game like a boxing match, going toe to toe with little regard for defensive tactics, hoping that you can outpunch the opposition and that their punches aren't strong enough to hurt you. If you opponent knows that you're likely to punch yourself out early they'll just ride the punches in the first half of the fight and take advantage by being more aggressive in the second, which keeps happening, exactly as the Plymouth manager identified. ...but it does mean that it's not over until it's over and you'll always have a chance to land some big punches yourself, get back in the fight and go on to win.
