Linekers comment makes no sense. We didn’t change formation, the subs were like for like. We played well until Maguire messed up and had a dodgy 15 minute spell and the subs were brilliant. Thought Sterling was good when he was on and Foden struggled but it the line up that finished was no more attacking than the one that started.

Yes they do. We stopped camping on the edge of our own box and playing on the break and actually properly attacked.

Which is what we're best at.  Bellingham, Saka, Mount look to attack, thw latter two changing the game when they came on, running at defenders.  Southgate was asked in an interview about how he'd respond to questions about him being too defensive.  He spun a PR response.  Covered his arse. There's a reason Maguire isn't even in the Man U starting 11.  Tomori we all know well and he's tearing it up at Milan.  To pick Maguire over Tomori is plain bias.  Every defender has a mistake in him, but Maguire always has at least two, and they cost us two goals yesterday. I thought Shaw did alright, his use of the ball was good, but he was guilty of not following the penalty in, unlike Havertz.  Sterling too, showed some great running, and got into some brilliant positions, but his finishing is woefully, frustratingly inadequate.

The team was pretty much the same, so the players changed mindset?

England were actually good last night barring a 15 minute spell, should’ve been leading at half time, take Maguire and Pope mistakes out we win the game, they also weren’t bad against Italy.

Far more positives than negatives

There are far more negatives than positives, and the biggest one is in the dugout.

So, Soctland will be in tier A of the next Nations League getting pumped by competent international teams in each fixture, so, the question is:

is that fun?

Shame they won't get a nailed on away point v England, but, hey, you can't have everything.

All about the feel good momentum that Clarke seems to be channelling at the moment.

It's been decades since we've had a decent team to get behind, so kudos to the management and players for the last 7 days.

The important thing about yesterday's result was moving into pot 2 for the 2024 Euro qualifiers and the play off quarentee if we fail via the qualifiers.

The nations league group A is good for the fans, and the SFA coffers, even though it might last 1 season before relegation again ?

Squad depth is getting so much better, and there are some real talents emerging. Full backs are unbelievably strong. There's definitely benefits of our young players playing club football on the continent.

Most important however is the team spirit Clarke has fostered and the way every player responds to him positively.

One last thing player that deserves a mention, Calumn McGregor. He's now showing his Celtic form on the international stage. He's in the Modric / Jorginho mould where he links everything together, always looking for the ball and doing the simple stuff.
