Some of these fees will be including addons. Transfermarkt has them down as £133m spent so far, recouping £4.5m in sales.

Players like Gibbs White and Williams are young and if relegated could easily bring in £30m+ even after an average season up there.

You're looking at break even then with parachute payments softening the blow with wages for the rest.

Absolutely no chance they get anyway near 50 million back on those two.  Your looking at excess of 250-280 million overall with fees and wages they'll be stuck with for 3-4 years or take a huge loss.

£30+ I said, £15m each is fairly standard for top young players going from Championship to Premier League.

As for wages, that's complete guess work, Lingard's has been well documented but not the rest.

Don't forget they will have other revenue streams on top of that Premier League money. City Ground will be at capacity for every game, hospitality, sponsorship increases etc.

Can't see them signing many more now, probably see a few like Grabban leave.

Thats a huge loss on just two players though -28 million-  and if there showing is poor they won't get that.  There wage bill will be astronomical there can be little doubt, as it will reflect the ridiculous fees and the convincing of these players to make a move to a just promoted side.  Playing for Forest is like working a night shift on Saturday.  Plenty of enhancement required.

It would be a huge loss, I'm looking at worst case scenario figures here though on relegation.

They are 2 young highly thought of players that will have no problems finding another club if needed.

Honestly think they will be fine and it pains me to say it. Would have preferred them going out and doing a United spending £60m on a 30 year old.

Like it or not the squad will also walk the championship

people laugh at Fulham but they’re spending spree allowed them to bounce back with ease twice. normally if you spend so much you don’t tend to go back down and linger.

Why would their squad "walk the Championship"? What if the players they have bought had their hearts set on the Prem and cba playing in the Champ? What if (given that a fair few are from abroad) they don't settle over here? What all the new arrivals don't 'gel' as a team? What if - gasp - the players they have bought turn out to be crap? There seems to be a massive assumption here that just because the players cost Forest a lot of money then they must be amazing...

Villa came down after 25 years in the PL with so-called PL players and didn't walk the league, so why would Forest and all their brand new unproven arrivals?

And with regards to Fulham (to continue the example) yes, they did bounce back - with the very players who weren't good enough to keep them in the PL in the first place. So they spent millions on players who couldn't keep them in the PL but were too good for the Champ when they could have...kept the players they already had who got them promoted in the first place!

The PL is a mirage for most clubs. You have to spend lots of money in order to not get relegated and end up losing even more money.

Teams will continue to go back up whilst championship clubs can’t lose over £39 million every 3 years yet relegated clubs can spend up to £200 million - is that fair - no of course not - just handicap those clubs accepting the parachute money for about minus 16 points each season. If folk don’t think it’s fair to handicap clubs then what about clubs going into administration and being deducted points and then restricted from spending money above a certain limit and unable to sign anybody other than out of contract players and on loan youngsters who have hardly ever played football.

And that’s not as daft as it sounds.  The gap between the PL and the Championship grows bigger every year.  Teams like Forest, etc may as well go for it and gamble because if it doesn’t pay off they have 2 years of parachute payments to either get back to the PL or restructure.  The sad thing is it filters down.  The teams going down from the PL have that much of a head start that it’s now pretty much nailed on that 2 out of the 3 that go down will be in the automatic spots and the other in the play-offs.

Look at the company he's in. Ridiculous transfer fee for a player who's done very little in the grand scheme of things

He's played 40 games for Wolves, many as sub, in their 5 years in the PL.  So a regular.  A regular contributor in the goals column as well

On 15 August 2019 he scored his first goal for Wolves, on his 57th senior appearance for the club.

They'll give it the big one about how their going for it if you chance across one in the pub but know a few Forest fans who were breathing a sigh of relief when this one looked like it was failing at 30 million .  One I work with said that this deal actually made him get a headache and the s**** when it went through at 42.  Those with any kind of sense are begin to find this spending on unproven and bang average players a serious worry.  The best player they've signed is Toffulo, whose always looked decent to me and cost 10p.

Ridiculous fees for all those on that list. Sterling and Grealish, I like, but even their fees are too high, especially the latter.
