I think that guy qualifies as an extremist, to say the least! It was interesting that what clearly triggered him was when he heard that the other guy had met Russian speakers in Ukraine, with Russian surnames, who were completely pro-Ukraine and anti-Moscow.  After that he completely lost it.

So first it was supposed to be the U.S, now it’s the British Navy that destroyed the Nord Stream pipeline.

?

You know what, I'm beginning to think that the Russian Defence Ministry or the Kremlin aren't terribly reliable sources of information ?

Russia expands list of 'unfriendly countries' to include territory with population of only around 50

The Russian government has expanded its list of countries and territories which are "unfriendly", including 11 British overseas territories.

The list now includes:

Bermuda

British Antarctic Territory

British Indian Ocean Territory

Cayman Islands

Falkland Islands

Montserrat

Pitcairn Islands

Islands of St Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha

South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands

Akrotiri and Dhekelia

Three British territories were already considered "unfriendly" to Russia - Anguilla, the British Virgin Islands and Gibraltar.

It's worth noting that the Pitcairn Islands, in the southern Pacific Ocean, have a population of only about 50 people.

Sounds like they're planning to take some of their money back from our tax havens.

U.S midterms today with Russia hoping for Republican gains, leading to a reduction in aid for Ukraine

Seems there could be some truth in the theory that they threw in the mobilised soldiers as cannon fodder, to get them close to winter with the hope of less military aid from the US.

The losses in the last few weeks have been absolutely eye watering, but they seem to have enough warm bodies at the moment to keep going.

I don't see how this war will end quickly while Putin is still in charge (except for the West completely abandoning Ukraine, which I don't think will happen).  The Ukrainians are as determined as ever to defend their country, and Putin doesn't seem to care how many young Russian lives he sacrifices for his ego trip.  Depressing times for all concerned.

Russia are withdrawing from Kherson according to reports.

Ukraine have been making decent gains in the last few days in the area.

I imagine Russia are going to try and hammer the city from the other side of the river if they can hold it.

Reading a bit more about this.

It looks like Ukraine aren’t buying the Russian story and think it may be a trap as they are seeing an increase in Russian elite units entering Kherson.

Seems Ukraine are going to watch what happens and rely on their intel and not rush into the city.

Its also interesting to see this move after the midterm elections went completely against what Russia would have hoped for.

Don’t celebrate too soon. The senate could still go to the Republicans which, I guess, would be a win for the Russians.

It was actually the special military wing of the girl guides that did it

When the Cubs used to come round for 'Bob-a-Job', years ago I used to crack a joke about "refusing to donate to paramilitary organisations" before slipping them a quid.

It's good to see Netanyahu climbing back up the sewer pipes.

While Putin bangs his war drum in Europe I'm sure Netanyahu will stealthily get to work on annexing West Bank. That'll slip under the radar.

I think it's clear that the US doesn't think the Palestinians have the same right to nationhood as the Ukrainians do. Decades of US bias towards the Israelis is testament to that.  It also helps that the Ukrainians are fighting against the US's traditional enemy, Russia.

Hypocrisy aside, I still believe that he US supporting Ukraine as much as they can with money and weapons is the right thing to do under the current circumstances.  As long as that is what the Ukrainians want (which it certainly seems to be right now).  If the Ukrainians want to negotiate, then they US and the West should support that too.

Russia retreating from Kherson to the east bank of the Dnieper.  An embarrassing withdrawal, let's hope it damages their morale even further.
