Ghost of Clough
Thread to be renamed to just 'outgoings'? ? Worst case is player sales to get through to the end of the season. With 20 weeks to go, we have a £6m blackhole that needs filling. Which players would you sell?

Costs to run the club over an 8 week period from Sep to Nov was £2.5m. Gate receipts for the 4 games were about £750k with an average attendance of 19k (which increased to 21k in the 8 games since) Wage bill over those 8 weeks was about £2.2m. Extrapolating the official figures and accounting for a change in attendances gives an estimated total of £5.8m for the next 20 weeks, which I rounded up to £6m. Ravabeerbelly
I mentioned months ago about the audacity of claiming young players weren’t ‘first team players’ (Chorley 8 ) and then using them the minute they agreed and allowed us to make other signings….I also said about signings to replace long term injuries only for those injuries to clear up quicker than ‘expected’ (CKR)…. If you take the piss someone somewhere will get pissed off and when they get an opportunity to flex a rule book again - they will…. It's hardly 'flexing the rule book', if they're being pressured by member clubs to ensure we have the money to play out the rest of the seasons games. You're being just as one-eyed as those media Twitter warriors. Edited January 14, 2022 by RoyMac5 Rammy03 and Maharan

But the fact is most rules are only there to enforce should you need to….or feel compelled to….making monkeys of the EFL by being ‘clever’ sidestepping a few obstacles won’t have helped. It’s as simple as that.
1of4
The EFL appear to be twisting the rules as much as they can. Why don't they just come out and state they intend to keep certain chairmen happy, by making sure we're relegated regardless of how many points we have. I don't follow. Using your figures, we could have a squad of 21 players for £12-£15m. That's a bottom 3 wage bill, and less than 50% of our normal revenue.
