Born in Burton-upon-Trent, Staffordshire, now living in beautiful Belper in Derbyshire.

Nearest team growing up was Burton Albion - I'm pleased that they are doing well.

Started supporting Derby whilst I was at school in the 1970's because they were local . My Uncle took me to matches at the BBG. They have been my team ever since.

Nowt wrong wi Belper. Do you know @sage - he lives there and I visit the folks there from time to time ?

Our paths haven't crossed yet. I love living here and I was delighted to see that its name derives from 'Beau Repaire' or 'beautiful place' which is so fitting.

I thought it was Beau Paire... Beautiful view

Either way it's apt and I'm very glad I moved here.

Derby.

Derby.

Born in Coventry, my dad is from Kent but just supported which ever team was near where he was, mainly he liked cricket. I first started going as I got free tickets to BBG by selling Derby Evening Telegraphs at the ground fundraising for the scouts. (Probably about 87/88)

A couple if seasons later I got a season ticket and convinced my dad to go and we went every season from that until he died about 8y ago.

There's a Beaurepaire Crescent on the estate where I grew up ?

It's the feminine form of Beau - Belle which gives the name.

Lots of rich history in Belper. Still get nostalgic walking down King Street after about 40 years......

I went to Strutts Grammar School as it was then known and the word beaurepaire was in the school song, we used to change it to Beyond Repair.

from Heage, always supported the Rams, closest team now Ottawa Atletico

I shop down King Street at least once a week. Buy the Big Issue from Simone, buy a newspaper and have toast and coffee at Cafe G. Buy fresh veg from the greengrocer and occasionally treat myself to a luxury bar of soap from one of the craft shops. When I have the time I love to walk the streets (in a good way!?) and just explore this wonderful place.

So glad that you enjoy it as much as I do. ?

Strutts was one of two middle schools in Belper when I grew up.

I went to the other one, the Parks Middle School (ex secondary modern, now demolished) before going on to the Soviet Socialist Republic of Belper High School ?

The Belper News used to love vilifying the school by claiming all we learnt about was growing bananas and breeding rabbits....not entirely true but frothing outrage has always sold papers..... ?

Alzira, Valencia

Alzira if semi professional counts, otherwise Valencia

Born in the family house in Havelock Road (1963), about a 5 minute walk from the BBG. My dad took me to my first game when I was about 3 or at the most 4 years old. I can remember hanging on to the floodlight pylon in the corner between the Popside and the Normanton End to get a better view. How could I possibly support another club?

I still find it strange to see the youngsters from Belper School not wearing uniform and in our local shop at 3pm when my school always finished at 3.45. and uniform was strictly enforced. Still, if it works then good for them.

Strutts is an impressive building now used mainly for night classes and other community events I think. ?

I think we're the silent majority as it's quite boring to say:

Derby

Derby

Cos I'm from Derby and me mum & dad wouldn't have it any other way. And it's the same for my lad. It's not a choice.

Not boring at all. Derby born and bred and proud!

1. Wait by Simone

2. Look inside the newsagents

3. Grab a table inside Cafe G

4. Feel the melons outside the Greengrocers

5. Look interested at the soaps in the craft shops

6. Errm, What day and time ?

Not what you think, you rascal. ?

As a fellow union official, I'll be reporting you to the exec for wilfully misinterpreting an innocent post for your own selfish gratification! ?

I hope so! No reason why the NUT*and Unison cannot sing together in sweet harmony!

*NEU these days!

As a lifelong Union member and ex shop steward myself I always defer to me old man's union motto when he worked at the railway. NUR, National Union of Railwaymen, or No Use Rushing as it was fondly known bitd.
