Currently fuming so these are how I’m feeling right now  

Marshall - 8  Had to make so many saves second half to keep us in it. Not much he could do with either goals. Without him we’d have been dead an buried way earlier. 

Byrne - 5 Forward average but they targeted him all game and he struggled big time. 

Forsyth - 4 Poor. Defensively struggled and partly at fault for the first and woeful goi g forward. His lack of overlap and passing quality left Joz all on his own again. 

Wisdom - 2 poo all game and completely at fault for the second. Positionally poor, and so poor in his forward play. And can’t control a ball and gives it away. The sooner he’s gone the better. 

Clarke - 6 Could tell he was unfit but still better than the rest of the back 4. Felt bad for him having to play with Wisdom. 

Bird- 8 Played really well. Loads of forward momentum and breaking up play and winning the second ball. 

Shinnie - 8 MOTM Same As Bird but even more defensively solid and was everywhere. If we had 11 players that cared as much as him we’d be fine. 

Roberts - 7  Great threat and some great opportunities created. Should have scored at least one. 

Sibley- 5 Poor game from him. Seemed to get marked out of the game a bit and had one chance of note. 

Jozwiak 6 Worked hard and got hardly any support from the fullback so was doubled up on all night. Still able to put others in but to no avail. 

Lawrence 5 Scored, yay, but pisst poor defending for their first and then his head dropped and offered nothing. 
 

CKR- 5 Again in some good positions but can’t score. The team movement and forward play just went to crap after he came on, even though we did create a few chances. 
 

As well as we played in parts, for the first time in many a year I think we will be relegated before it’s mathematically certain. I just don’t think we have the quality or fight if we concede.

Marshall - 8     Very good game, made some big saves, decent distribution, possibly could have done better for their 2nd goal

Byrne - 7          Didn't really do anything wrong today, linked up well with Roberts again, good going forward

Forsyth - 7       Very good today, got forward well, always picks a good pass/cross, solid defensively, strange decision to sub him off

Wisdom - 3      Shocking display, very shaky defensively, vulnerable in the air, misplaced passes, slowed the game down too much when on the ball

Clarke - 6         Won a lot of headers, not up to his usual high standards, but still miles better than Wisdom

Bird - 9             Excellent all round performance, won tackles, broke up play, passed forward & between the lines, drove forward with the ball, one of his best games, possibly his best in a Derby shirt

Shinnie - 8       Similar to Bird but not quite as good, gave the ball away a couple of times, won tackles, played forward, forming a very good partnership with Bird

Roberts - 8      Very bright and creative, took players on, excellent at dribbling, unlucky not to score, getting better and better

Sibley - 6         A little quite today but was playing out of position, decent movement, never quite got involved enough though

Jozwiak - 7      Looked very dangerous, was in on goal a few times but nobody passed to him, good link up play with other forwards, took defenders on, possibly needs to be a bit stronger for Championship football, but looked one of our better players today, not sure why he got subbed off to be honest

Lawrence - 7   He is crucial to us, bright and creative, capable of scoring from anywhere, good link up play, faded in 2nd half as only recently back from long term injury

 

 

Kazim - 3        Didn't really do much, came on as a target man but lost more headers than he won, offered zero movement, was unlucky not to score with a late header though

Watson - 5     Not sure why he came on really especially in place of Jozwiak, didn't really do anything Bird & Shinnie weren't already doing, definitely one for the future though

Buchanan - 3 Very poor from him today, brought on as he's supposed to be more attacking than Forsyth, but didn't get forward anywhere near as much, the one miss hit cross summed his performance up really, another poor substitution by Wayne

Ebosele - 6    Looked lively and a decent cameo considering he was being played out of position, unlucky to not be awarded the pen

Marshall   (6)  Good stops with his legs and body and fine anticipation coming off his line.....could have saved their second though imo

Byrne   (7)   Decent as usual

Forsyth   (6)   Quality of crosses wasn't great but solid enough

Wisdom   (5)   Not good enough often enough and had a mare for their second 

Clarke   (7)   Deserves a better CB partner, maybe Edmondson when he's fit

Bird   (8)   So much better when looking to be positive. A fine all round performance

Shinnie   (7)   Fine assist and the usual endeavour

Roberts   (7)   Some lovely skills but lacking end product

Sibley   (5)   First touch was poor throughout although he was played in a different role

Jozwiak   (6)   Frustrating 

Lawrence   (6)   Did one of those goal things again but flattered to deceive

Marshall 7 - some excellent saves but should have done better with their winner

Byrne 7 - usual excellent forays down the right. Positionally was caught out a lot & that exposed Wisdom more than we needed

Forsyth 5 - not great. Often looked very ponderous on the ball & slowed the tempo of breaks on a few occasions. 

Wisdom 4 - very poor. Worst moment obviously his slip that led to their winner but struggled horribly all game with Armstrong's movement and balls over his head

Clarke 5 - better than Wisdom (mostly aerially) but not by much. Accept he's probably not fit but struggled to get close to their forward men

Bird 9 MOM - excellent. Defensively, won loads of second balls & made plenty of tackles/interceptions. Saved us from conceding a 3rd with great last man cover. Oozed quality in possession both controlling tempo with quick short passing & some great forward balls into front men

Shinnie 8 - very good tonight. Got about the pitch, ratting possession, drawing free kicks & supporting the front men. Great ball to Lawrence for the goal

Roberts 7 - so good but without end product. Bright from the off & nearly scored an astonishing goal by beating 3 men before losing his footing. Just always takes one too many touches.

Sibley 5 - below par I thought. Again lost the ball too easily & didnt get involved enough. Did have one excellent effort first half that was well saved but other than one great tackle shortly before he was subbed, was anonymous

Jozwiak 6 - wrong option every time & its so frustrating to watch. Great movement, great at retaining possession, beats men but just no end product at all

Lawrence 6 - the good, the goal & free kick. The bad, that pathetic attempt to mark Gallagher for their goal and numerous poor decisions when breaking on them esp second half

more to the point, why was Lawrence given the task of marking him at corners? seems a complete mismatch

Are you sure you were watching the Derby game????

Yep the one we lost, Jozwiak did his usual and ran in to people then held his shin screaming like he’d broke his leg, Bird passed it back to Clarke and Wisdom which was outstanding. Can you define where they added value to our performance and created match winning opportunities............I’ll wait

Bird was my Derby MotM too tbh. I thought he did well defensively and looked to be more positive going forward. He also looked composed when pressured and all in all was the least of our worries.
