Some of us saw those posts before we saw the goal... and we were watching live!   LOL!

Exactly. I was watching the free kick being set up and simultaneously saw two posts Wizzzzie and never in doubt. The most enjoyable free kick I’ve ever witnessed.

I've developed my viewing tactics as the season has progressed. I watch the game on RamsTV on my laptop and watch SSN on the tv for the other goals and to replay incidents in our game, but I pause SSN for the first 2 minutes of the game, which then means that SSN is about 1 minute behind. Any messages or notifications on my phone are not looked at for about a minute either. But, I hate it when my phone signals a notification and the opposition are on the attack, worrying that we're about to concede a goal.

It'll be so much simpler when we get back inside the grounds.

Getting quite lucky for one goal i will give you but getting quite lucky in assisting 4 goals , behave yourself , Waggy works very hard for the team , he never shirks or hides away , cant understand some of the comments about him

Of those, he only assisted 2. Which were both lucky. To clarify, he didn't get lucky for 4 assists, he got lucky for 2 assists and 2 parts of build up. Hope this helps.

In my opinion, social media/forum opinions tend to be ‘what someone actually thinks’ x 10. For effect and likes and all that.

Have to say though I can’t work out why as a fan of your club you can’t just enjoy that last night. I just think back to games like that we should have picked up results! All I thought after the game last night was that we needed some of that character at Luton away last season (don’t know why that game sticks out as an especially crappy night but it does).

So yeah, just bloody enjoy it because it can get worse!

You can enjoy winning a game, but also point out where you think they can improve. Just because you like to support in a way, doesn't mean everyone else has to follow suit. I liked the fact we won whilst not playing well, but it doesn't disguise the fact that we didn't play well.

That’s fine, my point was more that each side of the argument is a rather exaggerated viewpoint of what is essentially the same point (we won but didn’t play well).

My second point was really theres enough crap nights when you lose in the last minute, and as a fan of a club we have to enjoy the sweet moments rather than being overly critical. It’s not a fact of disguising anything, you can’t hide that it was a bad game, but games like last night are also where the best emotions from supporting a club come from and it’s better to ride that wave.

Theres a load of stuff to dissect last night that hasn’t been touched in my view, I’d rather get into some of that (the importance of Rooneys subs, the intelligence of Robert’s winning a free kick out of nothing), Wycombes tactics working against themselves) but again it ends up being a debate where both sides are essentially saying the same thing!

3 points exhilarating of course. BUT it’s not just about one game/3 points - it’s about whether we’re consistent, whether we can play football without Bielik and whether we will continue this run. And we wont if we play like that.  Midfield was a disaster zone and against the better sides if we do that we get outplayed. Each is obviously worth a place but I don’t think Knight and Shinnie belong in the same team.

What last night said to me was that we are making progress and that we are a better team than we used to be.

I know that sounds  bonkers after the way we played last night, but not so long ago we would have lost that match, as we did the Rotherham match, and a number of other ones as well.

We’ve now got a pair of balls, and we have the ability to play in different ways.

We were poor, in part because, as with Rotherham, we were playing in a style that is thankfully alien to us. But we always struggle against teams that are physical and that do long ball, so taking them on at their own game paid off.

Last night we were doing ok and actually starting to play a bit. Until Clarke went off that is, then we went “rabbit in the headlights”. He had handled Ikpeazu pretty well, apart from the clout to his head by the forwards ever-flailing arms. Ikpeazu became a handfull after that, and those suggesting he could do us a job - no thanks, he is a dirty cheat. I wouldn't want him. But what do I know - I drive lorries for a living!

The bottom line is that as with Rotherham we were being physically assaulted, even battered. And as with any team that tends to overplay the physical card, there was little done about it by the match officials. Thankfully his inept performance wasn’t all in Wycombe’s favour.

At Rotherham the first goal broke us -all the standing firm in spite of the onslaught was gone and we caved in. Clarke going off had a similar effect last night, although not so critical. But Wycombe gradually upped their influence on the game. But in the end the physical barrage, while not   crushing us anymore does wear us down. And it was only near the end that we got back to playing football again and got more in control.

I have to admit that when our “free kick specialist” was lining things up, I was wondering whether it would be the right or the left hand post that he would sky the ball over!

And yes, I know that he deliberately set Wizzy up for the shot by aiming for the post!

Our midfield didn’t do much because for most of the match the ball the ball passed about 2 miles above their heads. Knight’s booking wasn’t so much frustration of his lack of effect. More that he had just been dumped over the touchline by one of their thugs, with no free kick given (no surprise there) then came back on to the pitch and decided to do his version of what the ref should have done.

What I am looking forwards to is taking on a football team on Friday, which will make quite a change from sharing a field with a bunch of angry farmhands.

COYR!

I’m not a big Waghorn fan but, to put a more positive spin on things, couldn’t you just as easily have said he got unlucky with that free kick? An inch or two higher and to the left and it might have gone straight in. Two seasons ago, if Wilson had hit the post with such a free kick I’m sure that’s what most people would have been saying.

Just a point not many seem to have picked up on. I think Marshall deserves praise with helping to organising the defence. It's been a while since we had a goalkeeper who bosses and shouts at the defenders.

Very true.  I have wanted to see a keeper organise and boss our defenders for a while. There's something about having a quite goalkeeper that makes me feel a bit nervous during games.

Sure. But this is why the assist tally is pretty unreliable, many assists are not intentional.

This is the deluxe approach to mine. I will make the necessary adjustments to get up to speed.  Thanks ram59

I pretty much expect Marshall to save everything. No tension when the ball comes over. Surprised if opposition score.

He's getting much more confident with the passing game too. Not something I was aware he had in his locker when he joined us. Since he came back from his illness (not being paid can make you sick ? - baseless rumour) he has positioned himself much higher up the pitch giving Clarke or Wisdom a simple and easy passing option when the press is on. This has helped us switch the ball quicker without gambling with a long cross-field ball.

I also like how eager he is to start a counter attack when he collects a cross. Running out to the edge of his area ready to launch the ball forward. We just need more energy in the front line to make the most of this.

I like Roos and he has been a great deputy this season, but Marshall is the better all round keeper.
