Scroll to the very bottom of the page and you'll see a box where you can type into - it should be empty, with no quoted text in there.

If some quoted text is in there which you don't want, then just smash away at the backspace button until it's gone.

Thank you.

Hi Rampage.

If you want to make a general post in a thread then carry on as you are doing.

If you want to make a response that is specific to what someone has typed then you need to ‘quote’ them. So when you have read this post, look at the foot of the post and you will see the words quote. Tap quote, and you can reply to me with my message imbedded. Hope that makes sense. Try it.

Much appreciated i-Ram

Not quite right obviously ?

Go back to my first message again. Hit quote. A new message will start.

Underneath my quote which will be framed in a blue/grey framing, you can type your response. Put cheers mate.

I remember thinking at the time that I wished Steve squashed the rumours about him leaving quicker but on reflection, I don't think he was being tricky so much as simply reluctant to give the rumours any credence at all. It's also true to say that he did unequivocally state that he was staying when the rumour mill refused to die down and given the number of sources through which this fact can be confirmed, suggesting otherwise is really rather silly.

On the same note, I stood by Rowett to the bitter end. When he apparently jumped ship to go to a 'bigger job' at Stoke, it really got under my skin and I remember myself railing at his lack of loyalty. It later transpired that the real driving factor was the levels of abuse his family were receiving from so-called 'fans' and not the lure of hard cash. The moral of both stories seems to be that there were more than one side to both and we (I) should take stock before passing judgement.

As for Mac 5, I do find his appointment a little strange. I'll forever carry hugely fond memories of his first season in charge. I can't recall the game though my (sketchy) memory of it is that it was against Hull whom we ritually disembowelled with one goal particularly memorable where we moved the ball laterally briefly before surging forward with clinical one touch passes and if memory serves, a couple of outrageous backheels (certainly the assist anyway) to which my Chelski supporting son retorted, 'Jaysus dad, that was like watching Barca!' I was brimming with pride. How I've missed those heady days since! Ironically, the only time I've seen anything like it from a Derby side since, was in 2 or 3 games in the middle of the purple patch last season under Cocu which was partly the reason I remained staunchly behind him to the bitter end. Sadly, for wahtever reason, it was just a fleeting glimpse and nothing more. Heyho, we move on!

Despite this however, I don't get this appointment at all. Mac is a brilliant coach, but that is where it starts and finishes for me. He is as unproven in his new role as Rooney is in his. Furthermore, I find it hard to believe that having sacked Steve twice, Mel would have sanctioned this appointment were he not moving on. Whilst there is every chance Steve will do ok, there are a lot of guys out there who are proven in in what is a fairly specialised role and who present a lower risk profile as a consequence. Another roll of the dice or an inspired decision?

Stranger still, is the timing. If Steve was the plan and not a spur of the moment and somewhat populist reaction, why not bring him in as interim manager to then be transitioned to the Technical Director role once the new coach is in place? That way we at least have a proven and experienced man at the helm at a time when we need it most and not a bunch of leaderless rookies. It speaks volumes to my mind and I am hoping that this call was driven by the new owners and not Mel.

All of this said, I've a massive soft spot for Steve and I don't doubt his presence alone will give the club and all bar the most jaundiced fans, a big lift. I sincerely hope that egos will not prevent the 'committee' seeking his counsel as to matters on the pitch, as there would be few better mentors and even fewer as passionate about the club. I also hope that Steve himself can prove my fears as to his new role totally unfounded in the same way he did in 2013. In all honesty, I'd be absolutely delighted if he did.

You might actually be thinking of this game under Wassall

Oh really .. u going to make me do that?? I mean really

you made the statement that a manager should've done better with an injured spine to his team, after a transfer window had shut, with no big money to spend (if one was open).

No

I said he could have put the constant speculation over his future at the club to bed with a strongly worded statement instead of constantly answering like a politician every time the question was asked
