Do you really think that Boris has made ANY binding  commitments whatsoever ? 5 years is a long time to wait

The irony is , is that this will all work to my  and a lot of others personal advantage.

Do you have secure "brexit free" employment ? are you concerned about those that don't ?

I believe that whatever you think of Boris he went to the electorate believing in Brexit and Believing in Britain.  All you heard from Labour activists was how thick and racist we all are.

I believe that Boris will finally get Brexit done and Britain will be able to move forwards again for everyone.

You've said this a few times and I'm going to push you to clarify.

Are they in favour of nationalism or globalism?

Do they reject or embrace class structures?

Do they favour or oppose private capital?

Why are they fascists, and not just a violent mob?

Looking at the videos I believe a lot of them are angry youths, with nothing better to do that scream and shout obscenities and repeat anti-capitalist tropes they've heard online.

If you want to form an angry mob and demonstrate the result of a democratic election go for it, but expect to be called out for it.

Maybe not fascists, that was just a turn of phrase but marching against democracy and banning/deplatforming online speech you don't agree with has certain similarities.

Please don't overuse the word fascist. It refers to a very specific thing. Mob of idiots, violent criminals, even stalinist/communist reactionaries I will maybe disagree with but I'll see your point of view - but to call people fascists just because you don't like their actions is watering down what fascism is.

Fair enough, but I've never seen you say that to other people on this forum that use 'fascist' or 'far right' when talking about people such as myself, @Norman, @G STAR RAM etc simply for having different a view point.

Does it matter what or how you label those who protested?

From wearing kill tory slogans to saying Boris Johnson should die a horrible death, its clear one label that is appropriate is 'disgusting and vile human beings'

Protest.. Fine. Do it peacefully,  not violently. I just don't get it, surely by being such thugs they destroy any message they are trying to get across,  if they are indeed trying and not just using it as an excuse for violence.

Well, I try to. It's hard to challenge everything and everyone on here or it gets watered down.

Anyway, if anyone challenges the people who shout "Antifa are the real fascists" on here, surely it's me?

Out of interest, how many of the 180,000 members of the party and how many of the 600+ candidates have you spoken to come to the conclusion that there's widespread support?

Frankly, whilst I myself have no evidence whatsover, I would be very surprised if there is any support other than a small minority of extremist. But, that's just my guess.

Agreed I might not have phrased it correctly (groundswell) but it definitely is a common view amongst party members I have spoken too.

I have spoken to 5 Candidates since the election was called 3 successful 2 not (2 were sitting MP's prior to the election) I won't name them as it is their personal prerogative to give their views.

Conservative members I would guess about 50 in the last six weeks and whilst Scottish independence was not the focus of these members I have discussed it with some. Again as I am getting an old git within the party I tried to tap into what the newer/younger members of the party were thinking.

Just for the record I am Unionist in the sense of the  party name and was quite pleased that TM brought it back into the title of the party when she became leader.

However 40 years ago when I became a member it was a given that you were Unionist, akin to being a member of one of the big trades unions and being a Labour member. Fortunately the world has changed for the better and the Conservatives are more of a broad church and until recently I thought Labour had become more inclusive of differing opinions. Nowadays you don't have to pledge to keep faithful to UK when you join the Conservatives.

Just  as matter of interest Tamworth are you a member? I will understand if you don't want to say.

Ahhh, back to calling people stupid again.

And then try to explain irony a paragraph later.

Lolz.

Shame you don't jump in when someone who shares more of your point of views bands the term racist around.

Nay mind.

I know, someone needs to stick up for the white blokes around here. Never mind, Boris is in now. He's already said EU immigrants can't be allowed to feel like the country is their own.

Maybe if they did you'd have a Labour government...

Agreed.

There are **** **** everywhere .... yesterday I saw a 6 foot bloke in the Post Office almost threatening an old lady assistant because she couldn't make the ershool understand how parcel force worked.

A lot of these ***** look for some kind of legitimacy for battering someone - football thugs, antifa, anarchists, EDL ... and try and wrap it in a reason to legitimize it ' 'I shoved the old Tory bloke and continued the socialist global struggle', 'I told the Lib Dem young woman leafleting to get stuffed, felt proud, just like my Grandad as Arnhem' ...

I will give Boris credit if he can rid society of the hysterical violent language that also fuels this ****.

Why not give Boris the chance to unite the country. Everyone knows Brexit is going to happen. You can't want an Independence referendum until that is done and all the implications, both positive and negative, are known.

I know you're desperate for the Conservatives and Boris to make a mess of all of this. Just like you want Trump to fail. It's not a great trait if you're doing for no other reason than you want to be proven correct.

Sorry, didn't see this.

I'd agree any Scottish Referendum shouldn't happen until it's clear what sort of Brexit will actually occur.  But I think you misunderstand my point, what I've been saying is that by denying Scotland a referendum now Boris is making their independence more likely, not less likely.  So if his objective is to unite everyone, then he is going the wrong way about it.  It seems he is fervently against it irrespective of the Brexit timescale.

I'm not that bothered by the Conservatives and Boris to be honest.  I definitely wouldn't have voted for them, had I the opportunity.  But I wouldn't have voted for Labour either.

As for Trump, I agree with you, I absolutely want him to fail.  100%, no question.  He is a deplorable human being.  But more importantly I want him to fail because he preventing the US (still the world's most influential country) from doing anything about climate change.  And that is the biggest issue facing the US and every country on the planet right now.  Trump doesn't even believe it exists, or possibly even worse....he believes it but he just doesn't care.

You think I see that absurd President and I want him to fail merely to prove me correct?  You've got a very low opinion of me Norman.  I'm saddened ?
