I love your optimism but we've been here too many times before. We're only half way through the season and the chasing pack are very close. There is a long way to go before we can say we will win promotion just by avoiding defeat against a handful of specific teams. Look at the defeats we have had relatiely recently - Reading and Ipswich, both at home and both hardly setting the world alight in the league.

Yes we need to strngthen in the jan window... A few injuries and the squad is stretched especially in midfield.

It’s about what Gary wants not Mel mate.

not really. If Mel wanted to be awkward, and didn't care about compo, he could put Rowett on gardening leave and block him taking another job until the end of his contract.

well yes 1.7m  - drop in the ocean to get a good manager (the amount they have spent on duffer players and paying Hughes off)

But:

1 Stoke have not approached us - and Mel will fight it with venom!

2 Nobody knows whats in GRs head

3 Time is against Stoke City and this is usually a crucial factor - they want someone in place for Saturday - and if Mel conveniently stalls it etc  - it won't happen

4 O'Neill has a quick release (and others are readily available)

And do we know what Gary wants ?

That chappie that works for RamsTV and posts on here seems to be under the impression he’s not going and I think he’s more likely to be better informed than some journo from the Mail under orders to fill column inches, besides, there’s not a lot we as fans can do about it, wait and deal with facts.

Stoke have left it a bit too late for the job to be really attractive to anyone.

16 games to go.next up man utd. Only 3 weeks left in the transfer window.

The worst defence and the worst goal difference in the division, even with englands goalkeeper.

Interesting that someone has presumably leaked the fact that he has a release clause, and the value.

yeah  - someone added up 17 months left on the contract @ say £100k a month - lets make it 1.7m - sounds a bout right!! stick that in the paper

Not as though those Bet365 tossers care about that sum - his daughter, as CEO, makes that in two days!!

Can he say anything when he’s not been officially approached?

If so, I would also like to turn down the Stoke City managers role.

You'd be daft to turn it down.

could we simply say that you are focussed on the job in hand, have an ambition to manage in the prem, and an interest in crockery.
