Yes its the wrong philosophy to go away to Norwich and Leeds with isn't it

Didn’t Martin start and come on a half time in those games ? Add into the mix that we lost Ledley, surely you would look at previous games and think we got tonked with these personal previously therefore I better try something different.

Alternatively you do nothing, hope by some miracle everything is  ok and when it isn’t just say it’s a bad day at the office.

Correct. And I just don't understand GR's philosophy that you can win games without it.

Yes you could never win 4 games in a row v Forest Wednesday Norwich and Leeds without it. could you? O wait.

In any of those victories, did we for one moment look as comfortable as Reading did yesterday as they tore us to ribbons across the park like a sabre chicken-wiring through tissue paper? They had pace, skill, control, movement and energy. We had...erm.........

It's a fair point Ella. It will be interesting to see how the next few games go after the break. If we play like that again and slip back down the table, it will dispel that theory about successful teams win when they are playing badly. It might turn out to be more a case of being fortunate to have a winning run, then reality kicking in as the luck runs dry.

Because he adds something that most don't...control.

We are missing that and Martin and thorne are the two players most able to supply it.

We cried out for that today

You are spot on that he adds something that perhaps the others don't  ,,, but but but it's also fair to say that he lacks in some things the others bring?? He is a decent player just like the other strikers we have , he is not a must start player , starting him and keeping him on all game does not make us immune from the piss poor performance and result we had yesterday,, he has been a part of plenty of those in his time with us?

Yesterday was THE RECCURING Derby that has haunted us for too long even through the fabled Mac 433 possession based times ,

martin being in the team is neither the cure or the cause of this and I for one would be happy to see this obsession ( overly pro or overly critical) disappear
