Both he and Bryson have been pretty poor so far this pre-season. Couldn't really think of who else to put in there really. I was debating putting Blackman in for him if we are talking about the best 11 in general.

Not totally convinced by Butterfield so swap him for Huddlestone if/when he signs. Forsyth still building up fitness so not totally fair to critique him, and Blackman first choice sub. Sparkle
Observations - nobody on that pitch for us who could take a decent set piece which is always disappointing forsyth - nice to see him out there wieman - looks good on the counter attack but not so on general play Bennet - has to be given opportunity this season, impact sub or whatever, nice goal johnson - well he hasn't improved on his passing has he, but a great strike for his goal mainly it is all about fitness at this stage and let's see how we progress

Will be interested to see who gets picked. Would like to see Thorne or Huddlestone play next to Brad in midfield with that front four. Elsnik was tidy, but I would like to see him get a season long loan, playing a full season. Surely Nugent should be in there.

Bessie1
Blackman and Bennett working their way into fans' thinking for the opening fixture - you'd have got long odds for that a couple of weeks ago.

I liked the look of that very mobile three we just played with Martin holding it up. I also like the fact that they could change positions. Nugent is great, but he can't switch it up like Anya, Weimann and Bennett just did. I expect he will be favourite to start up front with Martin on the opening day of the season, so not throwing any shade his way!
Coneheadjohn
Alright at the back, very good attacking. I have no idea what's going on in midfield though,Timi Elsnik a class above on the ball.

Boss
From what I've seen so far, and the signing of Huddlestone expected, this is the team I think I'd like to see: Carson Wisdom, Keogh, Davies, Forsyth Thorne, Huddlestone Bennett, Nugent, Weimann Martin

PopsideRam
Team looked good today, really pleased with Weimann and Bennett as they looked extremely fluid and worked well with Martin. Jamie Hanson looked good too!
gfs1ram
"Observations - nobody on that pitch for us who could take a decent set piece which is always disappointing" Hanson is the best 'dead ball' taker in the Club but never gets a look in. Martin next best. We have been poor at dead ball kicks for several seasons now. Why Hughes or someone like him never tried to specialise and score more goals has been a failing and a missed opportunity. Oh for an Idiakez or now showing my age an Alan Durban !!
