Do you guys have no respect for tradition anymore? We always fall apart second half of the season - we just happened to fall apart at the start of the season as well this year.

On the bright side Newcastle are losing - hahahahaha.

Don't think we are out of the game yet, Norwich seem wasteful! But as soon as the team was announced today, I had a suspicion that we would struggle. Always thought it just today seems to be a good example.

Whilst 433 has served us very well on our recent run, don't think we had the personnel available today to play it - slightly disappointed by Mac not trying something else.

In the style of 433 which we play (1 holding midfielder and 2 more advanced), you can play it one of two ways. A - Have a striker who will hold the ball up and have a lot of movement around him, midfielders running beyond, wingers cutting inside etc. or B - Have a striker who looks to stretch the defence, and wants balls slotted in to him, thus requiring two creative midfielders who like to play (and creative wingers).

Today, we have Bryson instead of Hughes, and whilst Bryson is great in a system where we have a striker to hold the ball up (A), he is not great at creating with the ball at his feet or ball retention, which is what is required when we play Vydra up front (B).

We can certainly still win games playing this way, but will likely come unstuck against better teams, as the team just doesn't have the right balance.

IMO today given the injuries/suspensions/need to rest players, we would have been better put utilising a 4231 with better balance. I know 433 is our plan A, but if we don't have the players for it, don't do it!

Today should have been:

            Carson

Baird Keogh Pearce Anya

        Hanson Johnson

Ince Butterfield Weimann/Russell

            Vydra

In hindsight, we should have switched things around quite a lot for the Wigan game to give us better options for this one. Hughes getting suspended limited the options for changes against Norwich.

Butterfield looked unlucky to me and the leftback curse is pretty scary. Right now we should be playing three at the back and moving Hanson into midfield.

Damn and blast. Second for Oliveira. 2-0. Let's hope it doesn't get worse.

We have had a great run, we were going to lose at some point, so if we do then so be it, dont care about next week now, just try and get some fit players in for the next league game and move on....

Wouldn't of been a red 10 years ago but 9 times out of 10 it is now. Stupid tackle. We just need to sit back, soak it up and try and hit them on the break now. Wouldn't mind bringing on Vernam up top for something fresh. COYR
