Name being reverted back in January

Rams’ home to revert back to being called Pride Park Stadium from January 2017.

Derby County Football Club’s iconic home will revert to being called Pride Park Stadium after the club decided to exercise its option and terminate its stadium naming rights agreement with the sports drink manufacturer iPro.

The club reached the decision to end the partnership following recent changes in the ownership structure of iPro’s business. From January 1, 2017, the stadium will return to it's original name, Pride Park Stadium.

Derby County’s President & Chief Executive Sam Rush said: “Both the club and iPro have changed ownership structures in recent times and a thorough business review was instigated by our owner Mel Morris after he completed his takeover of the club last year.

“During this strategic review, it became clear that the most appropriate solution which best suits Derby County’s long-term ambitions is to exercise our right to end the partnership.

“We enjoyed working with iPro and will now take the next few months to consider all our options regarding our home here at Pride Park.”

A phased programme of removing relevant branding from the stadium will begin shortly. All other associated club imagery, products, online branding and printed materials will also be amended over the next few months.

It's my fault, I've never ever bought an ipro drink, sorry. However if we can get it called the Kronenbourg Stadium I'm up for a slurp or two

I might actually want the free giveaways then :)

Good. Im into healthy drinks but that one is awful.

Mate, that drink is not healthy for a normal person.

You need to have pushed yourself somewhere towards your physical limits for it to have any impact or any sort of healthy implications.

It's full of calories and carbs. Anybody who buys this or Lucozade and isn't a professional athlete is a sucker.

What happened to drinking water.

I'd heard this was happening a few months back.

They wanted us gone because I think Coca Cola are buying them and wanted a bigger footballing name to have their sponsorship rights. So expect to see them sponsoring a top 10 prem side next!

We got the full money from the contract though so no brainer for us, get them out and get some more money in!

If true, then a fantastic piece of business really. Just hope the name is too cringeworthy.

I had got used to the iPro, it wasnt too bad really.

Has mel still got shares in candy crush? The candy crush stadium maybe?

For the training complex, Moor Farm Heroes would be appropriate.

I don't doubt the money was paid up front, that would make sense but I can't believe for a second that the club can unilaterally cancel the deal without paying some of it back. Unless, as you imply, it was a mutual decision, in which case, quids in!
