If we lose martin we lose everything........him getting injuired last season showed us just how much we miss him

utterly disappointed if he goes

No, not quite true, when he went out injured  - we still scored goals, thank god for Bent and Ince.

We went pear shaped because of defensive inadequacies, licking goals like a sieve!

Most strikers playing for Premiership sides against the Chelsea defence have struggled so does that mean they're not of Premiership standard? Of course it doesn't!

Martin is not your conventional striker -his role includes playing as a link and hold-up forward and comparisons with Teddy Sherringham are not far off the mark in respect of their styles........

Martin is a very good championship striker, he is strong & great at holing off defenders & fabulous at holding up the ball and bring others into play, but doesn't do penalties too well!

But there is no way he can be compared to TS, who was a world class player - nearest comparison is they are both strikers!

In the championship he's one of the best strikers in the division [so is DB] - but the quality of defenders is so much better in the prem, I do think he might struggle.

What it actually showed was how inflexible Mac's tactics were when Martin wasn't available (which is understandable given how successful that formation had been) - think back to the games where we tried to play Russell in Martin's position as an example - it's just possible that Clement may have a few other formations that he'll want us to play (it's even possible that he doesn't see Martin as a first eleven starter) - thing is that we don't have a clue what formation he'll want and which players will fit into that formation so at this stage - Clement is a complete unknown from that perspective.....

If you read what i wrote it was that Martin and Sherringham were similar in style - not quality level
