Last homage/replica/copy/fake that came into my possession (a supposed Omega in a bundle of other watches) was 'repaired' by placing it on the floor and stamping on it - sorry but not a fan of fake watches......

It all adds to the character. It keeps perfect time, and at about a third of what I expected to pay I ain't afeared to wear it! ?

Are you still into flutes, Steve? Helping my Auntie declutter after my uncle's death, came across a battered old case with an ancient flute in it. I remember it from young childhood 70 years ago(!) and it has been untouched since then.

Did some research on it to find that it's a Rudall & Rose. The address on the flute dates its manufacture to between 1827 & 1837. Further research shows that these can sell for £2,000 or more. I've been in touch with a guy who specialises in restoring/ renovating old woodwind instruments and I'm meeting him on Thursday.

I realise that this is nothing to do with watches but I'm not starting a new thread for flutes! If you're interested, I'll post a couple of pics.

I certainly am!

That Rudall (possibly a forerunner of Rudall Carte) sounds great, albeit out of my price bracket.

Post the pics por favor!
