Maybe that's why Clowes gave Warne a 4 year contract as it's a long term project?
Everyone is assuming on here that Clowes is demanding we MUST get promoted this season and would like them to direct me to the articles where he's been quoted as saying that.

I think that there is a complete over reaction to PW by supporters who think promotion is a must this season. The rest of us haven’t even contemplated promotion as a viable goal after the debacle last season. We’ve now got a manager with a successful track record who will most likely get us promoted within his contract, I do agree however that our most talented primarily older players aren’t going to be suited by Warneball but then again they aren’t the future of the club either!

I feel a bit like "we've made our bed, gonna have to lie in it this time" with Paul Warne.
Given time we'll get good at being a paul warne team. Just might take too long for this season, in which case we might as well have given Liam Rosenoir the time.

Our quality or lack of in the final third was really damning. Got into a few promising positions first half and some in the second but then the final ball either through player skill or composure was absolutely non existent.
If the tactic is that were going to score goals by pressurising the opposition and forcing mistakes then Ipswich didn't read the script last night and other teams might not be so generous too.
The only really difference between the 2 teams is that we gifted Ipswich a goal and a penalty on silver platters whereas we huffed and puffed but they to their credit gave us nowt. We were never going to score from our own endeavours if we had played for another 90 minutes.
Some of the comments about Warne already on here I imagine from the Rosenoir sycophants are really quite pathetic if not tediously predictable.
Obviously the novelty of winning 2 away games which we never even looked like doing under Rosenoir isn't enough for them but hey ho fill your boots lads if it makes you happy.

Don't be down, we were really good. We look like a strong League One team. We were heading for Div 2 or worse a couple of months back.

There’s agreements and there’s “agreements” though. The not being able to pay fees thing doesn’t seem to jibe with other clubs that have been in administration, so either the EFL have enforced a stricter rule on us for some reason, or we’ve actively opted for it, presumably to allow some more leeway elsewhere (like wages). Or I suppose there’s some other subtlety to it that explains the difference - we can’t pay fees right now, but could reinvest some proportion of any fees we bought in, for example.
As far as I know, the agreements are normally for 2 years (assuming we’ve paid off the creditors upfront).

You’re right, we probably have got the most experienced squad but we’ll have to see if that’s the best policy. I’m happy with a top half finish and some entertaining football.

Gritstone Tup reacted to Day in Vote for Derby to be named the home of Great British Railways (GBR)
Derby has taken a step closer in its bid to become the new home of Great British Railways (GBR).
The city is one of six locations to be shortlisted from 42 expressions of interest across the UK. The chosen city will become the HQ for the new organisation which has been created to deliver a simpler, better railway for everyone in Britain. The other shortlisted cities are Birmingham, Crewe, Doncaster, Newcastle and York.
Bringing GBR to Derby would be extremely beneficial for the region and would help to level up the area, which is why we’ve badged our bid and campaign as the ‘East Midlands’ vote. The winning location will also see the move of highly skilled jobs and investment outside of London into our region.
Why we believe that Derby and the East Midlands is the perfect choice for GBR:
One of the first great British railway towns The only city to have manufactured rolling stock continuously since 1840 The East Midlands is the geographic and strategic heart of Britain’s railway Home to Europe’s largest cluster of private-sector rail businesses A centre of railway skills with over 11,000 highly-skilled rail employees based in the Derby area and 45,000 rail-related jobs across the East Midlands During the bidding process we reached out to Local Authorities across the East Midlands and received backing from Derbyshire, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, Leicester and Leicestershire, alongside 21 MPs from across the region. We now need your help to spread the word and help Derby and the East Midlands become the new home for GBR.
Please help us by sharing our campaign with your colleagues, stakeholders, friends and family and ask them to vote for Derby!

The last two/three years were malicious, he absolutely knew what he was doing by not filing the accounts and using the HMRC as a credit facility.
Also, putting the club into administration but not the ground was calculated.
No doubt he was out for himself in the end, otherwise he wouldn’t have left the club in such a state of health to protect his own assets.
He goes down as one of the worst owners in English football league history, definitely our worst ever owner which includes the likes 3 Amigos and Robert Maxwell. Some doing, but neither of those brought us to the brink of death like Mel - albeit for not want of trying.

I met him a long time ago, during Wassall’s tenure, but he seemed fully invested - at the time too invested!
I don’t think anyone could’ve predicted what he did. I can’t comprehend the level of morality required of a person to do what he did - I’m still convinced that when he dumped us into admin, he thought he could get around the point deduction by using COVID as the excuse - which was what the interview with Ed Dawes was for.
He’s a sly businessman, who actually lacks the level of intelligence required to be successful at it - a dangerous concoction. I wouldn’t say he’s stupid, as he’s clearly a clever man, but definitely blinded by his arrogance, thinking he’s the smartest man in the room - it turned out he wasn’t, he wasn’t even close to being.
