When we taught especially 'clumsy', poorly co-ordinated children, one of the first tests the educational psychologist would do would be to get them to throw or catch a ball several times and watch them kick a ball so that they could establish left hand/ right hand dominance and left foot / right foot dominance. Many children who had co-ordination difficulties were 'cross-lateral'  eg. left footed but right handed and vice versa. I am right handed but if I couldn't use my right hand I could learn to use my left but I doubt it would ever be as efficient. Trying to kick a ball with my left foot is possible but my instinct would be to always go with my dominant foot as the other way doesn't feel right at all and I feel unbalanced.  I'm guessing that the same might be true of footballers. There are very few people who can switch from right to left with ease with their hands, so perhaps it is true with feet as well.

We are also at the cricket, but would have otherwise gone to the game.
I can't believe people are moaning about the price after eighteen months without a live game of football.
Don't like it, don't go. Plenty will.

Burton Albion because I was born somewhere between the brewery and the marmite factory and lived in a village 5 miles away from there for the first 18 years of my life. I'm equally at home in Belper and Burton.
I also look for the Aston Villa result because my mum was born next to the Villa ground in 1931. My grandpa loved the Villa. One Saturday morning he had loads of teeth taken out and still went to the match in the afternoon. Mum always knew what mood he would be in by looking at the faces of the men as they walked past the window after the match.

I like Hutchinson, very calm in possession & positionally very decent sat in front of the back 4. Quite similar to Max Bird in some ways as a 'tempo' midfielder (both tall & lean also). Isaac has also spent some time playing on the wing when at Southend so has lived with expectations of cutting edge to his game. Bit disappointed he didnt see more game time on loan at Forest Green last season, probably not a great move at the time given they were in a promotion slog.
Also looking forward to see if Stretton, Duncan & Ebosele can kick on (assuming Festy is playing up the park). They must be aware there are forward starting berths available & that competition between them could well improve standards. Could throw Luke Plange into that mix too.
If I had to pick one breakout player, it'd be Ebosele

He's certainly grown over the last year, so should be able to handle the physical side of the game. We haven't seen a lot of him recently due to his loan spell at Forest Green Rovers. They finished in the play offs so he must have been doing something right.
For a player his age, he has a lot of league experience, always a plus. I hope he does well.

Agree! How rude, especially when you have been waiting in for them. We had this problem. We needed a bathroom cabinet putting up, grouting doing, an over-bath shower installing and a glass shower screen putting in. Three firms said they were interested, made an appointment and never showed up. Then a Polish guy phoned from Nottingham and he did a brilliant job for far less than we had budgeted. Needless to say he received a generous tip!

I despair whenever I read notices in supermarkets asking customers to be kind and patient to staff and not to be abusive. What kind of society have we become?

    I'll have a sensible go..... ?
    I'll be happy to see
    - an identifiable style, or at least a solid attempt to implement one
    - our young academy players improving from last season
    - improved fitness levels so we don't look like 11 sets of 50 year old bagpipes after an hour.
The actual position is secondary, but if we did those 3 things I think we would be at least lower mid table.

Don't know what has caused it, Pearl Ram. Jeremy Kyle didn't help. Kindness and compasssion are necessities in life, not luxuries. We won't survive without them.

I'd be relieved just to stay up.
To be satisfied  a) Bielik would have to come back and be a cornerstone of our team
                                b) the take over would be sorted to everyone's satisfaction
                                 c)   We would have to end the season at least 3 places higher than last season,
                                 d) Wayne would have to show some progress as a manager,
For me, satisfaction depends on seeing even a small amount of improvement over last season otherwise we will be getting nowhere and that is not satisfying.

    Hopes for the season...
With the squad we've got currently, survival.  Anything else is a bonus.
What I want to see this season is to reach a (satisfactory) conclusion with the EFL on all charges and a takeover completed with the new owners setting out a strategy and investment plan to have us challenging in the top 6 year on year again.  I can cope with a season (or two!) of dross so long as there is a positive change coming.

What happens if you lose your ticket, what happens if you lose your trousers.
I mean you can go on and on, but we have technology now and the club are looking to embrace that.
It’s foolish to resist when the world is going digital. The longer you refuse to adapt, the more difficult you will find to adjust when you’re no longer given a choice.
