I like the sound of Kirchner.  Breath of fresh air.  I'd rather have someone new at the club, not harking back to previous eras.  We need a fresh start on all counts.  He's young, ambitious but very business savvy. 92% of Slync employees approve of Kirchner as a CEO (Glassdoor).  Slync.io is attracting lots of investment, he seems to be going places.  He seems to share Rooney's vision for the club. My hope is he takes Derby on that journey.

There were hints from admin the other day that him still being there has been a great help, and that without him, the administrators  costs would have been considerably more, as more (admin) staff (and expenses) would have been required, as they would have had to find out what he already knows... sort of thing!
Think it was part of the Q&A's with Rams Trust, but cba to find the link on here.  Sorry!

Unpopular but you’re not wrong. We did really well to match Fulham in the first half and to hang on in the second. And Fulham still have a lot of players, Mitrovic included, who failed miserably in the premier league.
I think passing wise, we generally are one of the better teams in the championship. Where we fall down is that physically we aren’t always strong enough to hold the ball under pressure.
That and the obvious lack of a regular goal scorer. So annoying that Ebosele, who is developing into a real threat, has such bad luck with injury, and that Stretton seems to struggle with fitness too.
We have a squad full of defenders and midfield players, but only Lawrence who regularly tries to score goals.

What a brilliant hard fought point that is. Jags, Davis, and Roos were immense.  Byrne shouldn't be able to compete with some of those units he's up against, but he saved us on more than one occasion tonight. Forsyth came back In and didn't let anybody down.
The rest of team grafted and fought once again and we can only hope Wayne gives them all a steady couple of days to recover from the knocks and graft they've put in over the last 2 games.

Ravel Morrison had now played 15 games this season. That’s more than he’s played for 7 of the last 8 seasons. He’s also now regularly playing for Jamaica. He’s paid more than likely a fraction of what he used to earn and he’s playing for a national team that has no fans and not a huge chance of qualifying for the World Cup…

… and yet he’s playing and trying and showing a positive attitude.

I think we probably don’t give this guy enough credit. Sure it can be frustrating when he goes backwards when he should go forwards. But frankly, in my view at least he’s the classiest player we have and I for one really hope he gets a few goals and continues to prove the doubters wrong.
Plus a tip fo the hat for Rooney who so far has proved he can manage him.
Come on ravel! Get a goal or two for us on Sunday!!

One football club putting another out of existence over a hypothetical situation constructed in their own heads. The future would be anarchy with clubs suing others for finishing above them for various reasons.
The EFL should stamp it out immediately and actually grow a pair to tell Gibson no for once. He’s like a child and if you keep telling a child yes, they’ll keep asking for more.
The EFL really need to make moves to get football back to being played on the pitch. More and more these days it’s played in disciplinary hearings or the offices of highly-paid solicitors, and people are falling out of love with it because of that.

This is the most galling part of administration.  Clubs should never sell their ground and the League structure needs to ring fence the asset.  It is for the community.  The ground should be as important as the golden share that the league holds.
There are a lot of crooks amongst club owners nowadays.

I think the evidence that we broke the rules is the club have accepted a penalty owing to the rules being broken.

We can create conspiracy theories but the reality is the club acted entirely immorally.  I've seen suggestions that the EFL enforced an embargo, to push us into this position to then force a concession for the points deduction.  But the club hasn't been paying HMRC and hasn't produced it's accounts for a number of years, that's why an embargo/conditions were enforced.

The EFL have most certainly gone for the jugular.  Largely because of how Morris and co acted, but ultimately the club acted in bad faith for a sustained period of time.

It sucks.  But if we won the play-offs a few years back we'd all be enjoying the success that came with it, ignoring the immoral actions of the club.

I think we just have to take this on the chin, it's caught up and it's no-ones fault but the decision makers at the club as to why.

Anyone else finding it really frustrating that MM started this fight with the EFL, runs away from it, puts us into admin then we have the book thrown at us and the EFL can carry on with their bullying ways and we’re left to look like the bad guys hated by everyone.
He had two options for me keep fighting what he started whatever the cost, if the EFL are in the wrong let everybody see it.
Or option two should’ve held his hands up, he’s not as smart as he thought he was, take the 9 point deduction and sell the club for whatever he could.
Instead he’s royally shafted us it’s unforgivable, no matter how much he put in, his ego has ruined our club.

Good to get this out of the way, although the club are still not out of the woods yet what with the business plans and having to obtain a CVA that will satisfy the EFL. The person to blame for this is Morris who attempted to cheat the system. The irony that PP looks like being part of a deal at way less than the 'valuation' can't be lost either and goes to show the club dodged further punishment over that deal!

It is how we learn and move on from this is the Most important thing.
Remember, we have been here before and risen up to the promised land and we will again with :
    1. Good governance
    2. Sound management both on and off the pitch.
    3. Maintenance of our fantastic fanbase.
    4. The skill, dedication and fortitude of our lads who wear the black and white with pride.
No but no can keep this GREAT club down.

The truth is Mel Morris turned Derby County from a solvent well run club with a talented squad into a penniless train wreck heading for League One in 6 short years while he cleared off with the majority of his personal wealth intact. We should be taking out a private prosecution against him the bar steward.

I was there at that one. One of my first away games along with Lincoln. I was about 12 or 13 and was right at the front when they shut the station doors ( I think there was another football special changing at york). Derby fans trying to break the doors down (which would have fallen on us and probably would have killed a few so not very clever) until the copper shouted "if you don't back off, I'll ram this f'ing horse into you. Back on the football special and the only thing for sale in the catering carriage were apples. "Oh Bobby Bobby..."
Anyway, back on subject. Relegation to League One is not the end of the world. Having no club to support would be. My young kids and I will still go and support Derby and for the thousands who go to watch Derby with their mates or their Dad or their kids - it bonds us. Those memories of away days to York and Lincoln with my cousin when I was young, I'll keep forever. My 8 year old son still talks about the playoff final at Wembley and how great Wembley is. My daughter comes with us too now and it's quality time with them, regardless of which division we're in. That's football - not so much about the quality of the football on the pitch, but, match day and everything that we do with those we go with.

So can we all agree now that MM has totally shafted the club?
He took on the EFL and they check-mated him, leaving him with the only option of administration
Now the Administrators have had to accept the deal that MM was refusing - because it was the only way they could move the club sale forward. The only other option was liquidation
Can't help thinking that if MM had just accepted the 9 point deduction, we could have avoided administration and stood a chance of staying up

    hi all
    OK, we're doomed...or are we?
At -3 we now need 43 points from 29 games to be in with a chance of at least being part of the relegation dogfight in April/May rather than just rolling over.
In other words, from now on we need 1.5 points per game on average.  Statistically, that means winning half the games and (possibly) losing the ones in between.  Draws as per our current form will simply postpone the inevitable but not prevent it.
12 wins and 7 draws will give us the 43.
This to me would suggest a "death or glory" strategy of attacking football, especially at home.  A point in this context is just "meh", but wins are worth gambling for, and there's literally nothing to lose by gambling because unless we gamble we're down anyway as expected.
Nothing to lose, playing for pride, with the pressure now off they might just surprise us.
It's also worth bearing in mind to what extent the teams just above us are struggling and will probably continue to struggle.
We are like Lewis Hamilton at the back of the grid in F1 - can we fight our way to 21st place on the last day on goal difference?
Could we pull of the greatest ever escape?
I wonder what odds the bookies are offering on our survival?
    COYR!!!

I don't blame the EFL. Ultimately, there's only one man who put us in the position we now find ourselves.
Look at it from other club's perspectives as well. Do you remember, Rotherham United's manager, Paul Warne's reaction on hearing we had beaten relegation last season?
    https://www.derbycounty.news/news/thats-disappointing-league-rival-boss-reacts-when-hearing-Derby-stayed-up-on-final-day/amp/
The article suggests he may have had a stronger allegiance to Sheffield Wednesday but nothing in his career indicates that. Also, there was possibly some bad blood between Derby and Rotherham.
When I heard it at the time, my impression was that Paul Warne thought we should have suffered a points deduction last season for not playing by the rules. It should have been Derby relegated.
