Just got back. That was effing brilliant. I just wanted to go and watch us play. And we did. Some very tidy football and to be fair we should have been out of sight at half time. But we are Derby and if we can find a way to make it difficult, we will.
But what was obvious today was that fans and players alike - We Are Derby!

    Fantastic win,
was nice for a for a bit to be immersed in football and what a tidy little team rooney has put together with literally nothing and not the circus of politics that is Derby county

Classless is being polite.  Rooney is a multi millionnaire already.  That's not why he's doing this and he's shown his class by sticking by the players, believing in them, doing everything he can.  The guy is top class in my opinion, forget whether he's an experienced manager or not.  So impressed with everything he and the team are doing with all the poo that's been going on.  The reaction today says it all.

I wasn't impressed with Rooney last season.
This season I think he's one of the very bright lights at Derby.
He could easily walk away but he's committed to managing the club.
He's drawing or winning a number of games.
I'm glad he's managing the club

Genuine football fans realise what this means to ordinary people and it brings a certain unity. Leeds fans seem very pleased by the whole thing. I draw solace from the fact that that night still hurts them and it always will. You would have thought they would know better having had local people lose their livelihoods when it happened to them but obviously not.

If fans of other clubs want to laugh, gloat and make fun of us, then let them. It doesn't make a blind bit of difference any way. They can fill their boots, have their laughs and say whatever they want. I don't really care. Their words have no impact.

    Merged for you.
I think a lot fans will recognise and be cautious that they may be next. With modern football and the growing chasm between the top and the rest, this will likely be an ongoing trend.
We're not the first and won't be the last. Clubs can laugh if they like, but in reality like us, they're really only one game from poo or bust.

Couldnt find original thread but perhaps mods can merge. Terrible night but I have been heartened by the huge number of supportive messages under clubs posts and elsewhere from fans of other clubs tonight. Not for the board etc but towards us as fans and Derby as a football club separate to its ownership. Thanks to those genuine football fans

Absolutely heartbroken , my beloved club chased the dream and tragically failed , one thing i would ask of the fans attending Pride Park today is to give your all in support of the team ,Wayne and his coaching staff , along with the fans they are the innocent parties in all of this , i hope and pray that DCFC can get through this and rise again COYR

I admire these sentiments and your refusal to take a defeated brain state. If Wayne and the players do this, we could feel much closer to them and prouder of them. However, to get to January in decent shape will be very difficult. Then we will lose all our assets. Even if we can trade, the disruption is huge. It would be one of the greatest escapes ever if we didn't get relegated.  We should fight it but not fear it.  Sadly I fear this season is mostly meaningful in terms of how we reset and rebuild and who will be involved. This is a painful but riveting part of the ongoing epic story of our club. The rebuild and restoration could be thrilling and more meaningful for it.

Needless to say, today's game is huge.
If we lose, we lose, but we need to see the players leave everything on the pitch, IF they do that, as Wigan did, dare I say we stand a chance of surviving, albeit a slim chance.
Now if they walk out, heads down looking defeated then it's finished, we're down without a fight and I fear Rooney will walk despite showing incredible loyalty so far.
The players need to step up for him, if not for us, and we, as fans, love him or hate him need to give him all the backing we can starting from today.
We do not want to be on the lookout for a new manager whilst in administration, a squad full of kids.
-12 is a given, we know that's coming as it's been confirmed, however if the EFL write off all the other potential punishment as they did with Swindon due to new ownership, we may be in a position to bring in some new faces in January.
Let's be honest, the EFL are not out to punish us, the fans, the club itself. Their crosshairs are lined squarely on Mel's forehead. If he's out the picture, they may lower their weapons.
Understand this is all very optimistic given what has happened, the odds are not stacked in our favour, however I can't sit here and demand the players do not walk on to the pitch today already defeated whilst having that attitude myself.
If there ever was a time for siege mentality, this is it.

Whilst all of this has had MM in charge and oversight of the finances so it sits with him, I acknowledge that Covid has tipped us into Administration the role of the EFL has to be noted as simply disgraceful, simply unhelpful and a dereliction of whatever their duty was supposed to be.
and on a personal note I will never be handing any money over to Middlesbrough football club again to watch my Rams and do hope that not a single Rams fan ever does go to that clubs grounds and spend money -

This hurts more because this isn't some dodgy, secretive ownership from a foreign country putting the club into administration, it's a local man. A man who i thought had the best interests in the club at heart. We all make mistakes, this is a huge mess. We're all human. What angers me more is a local Derby man has taken zero responsibility for this mess. Zero. Blaming COVID, blaming the EFL which is a valid argument. But to not have the integrity to accept ultimate responsibility for the financial mess of the club is a disgrace. He gambled and failed. Have the guts to stand up and apologise to the supporters tomorrow or next week. Supporters who have backed this man through thick and thin. We trusted you Mel. We trusted you. And you've not had the decency to communicate clearly to the fan base, now we're left in an unknown situation where worse case scenario there will be no more Derby County.
    Shame on you.

Hopefully Mel won’t be there therefore no reason to protest. Let’s just all turn up, celebrate our amazing club and back the players to the hilt. Hopefully we’ll smash Stoke tomorrow.
Im hoping this is the start of something positive again, we will be going to league 1 first but it’s all about the future now. Firstly we need a buyer before Jan!!

I was really annoyed last night when the news broke. I was close to posting something about Mel that would have restulted in a warning.
However this morning I'm more calmer. I'm getting too old, I've lost interest in football over the last couple of years and starting to emotionally detach myself. I'm losing the love for the game in general.
The Premier League is ruining football with the money. Grass roots kids football is political with coaches & parents thinking its the champions league final when they don't even keep scores at that age. Then the farce that is Mel Morris' time in charge.
I feel sorry for the people who rely on the club for a living. I feel sorry for all the die hards who its more than a club. I feel sorry for all the kids that support us who won't have witnessed any good times & who's interest in football might be lost.
Football really isnt that fun anymore
