Wycombe would have a stronger case suing Boro for our points deduction being delayed, as it was caused by Boro's intervention in the disciplinary process.
Shows what a nonsense the whole thing is.

I'm not really sure why DCFC never pursued QPR for compensation after the full scale of their FFPO breach was revealed. Both they and Leicester breached FFP rules that season. Leicester beat us home and away and QPR away and obviously at Wembley.
Then there's the case of our dear friends Notts Forest : placed under embargo in December 2015 for breaching FFP financial loss limits in season 2014/15, Forest spent big in the summer of 2014, including circa £6M on Britt Assombalonga who scored the equaliser in their 2-1 victory at PP in January 2015. Derby, if you recall, missed out on promotion by 1 point (we had a superior goal difference to the 3 teams tied above us with 1 point more).
Let's not even think about Villa and their record-breaking wage bill.
If Middlesbrough and Wycombe fans feel hard done-by, don't come to us looking for sympathy or understanding.

Clubs can only claim through a process  in accordance with EFL Rules. EFL can change the rules, as it has done on stadia sales and reinterpreted the rule on amortisation.  It is not in the interests of the EFL for clubs to be engaged in litigation against each other, and Derby would have much more valid claims against other clubs.

Yes but we have no idea what his involvement has been in the negotiations.
I think in general he has tried to help Derby County but his judgment has been flawed in many areas. Doesn’t mean the current position doesn’t hurt him or that he isn’t trying to help.
There’s too much hatred circulating at the moment.
Let’s use our energy to support the team. Every game is an end of season party!

To be honest with the way we conducted our business in general during the period of time he was here I think I'd rather a clean break and going in a different direction regardless of how much direct responsibility he had in that.

You don't think a £700k payment to someone 'with a view to them taking up a football related role' that never existed and a £1m payment for becoming a club ambassador as sweetener for Craig Bryson signing a new contract were questionable deals? Really?
SR winning a case against his dismissal doesn't mean these things didn't happen.
It doesn't really matter who ultimately signed them off, and just because they weren't legally a breach of FD doesn't mean they're the sort of deals you want your club entering into.

Just because Mel's a rotter doesn't mean that Rush didn't at least help negotiate some rather questionable deals.

So you don’t think he should write off the money he is owed. Or sell PPS at a discount to help with sale of club? An anti Morris chant right now would seem very bad timing.

Public defamation of the EFL by the fans, at a time when our club need as much positivity as possible will only backfire in my opinion.  Don't get me wrong, I'd like to get banner fly-bys calling the EFL all sorts of things, but it achieves nothing whilst they sit in their smug ivory towers accountable to no-one but themselves.  The only way they'll be held to account (but not guaranteed) is through an independent review.
If anything, any public display by Derby, and more so its fans, needs to be seen as something to be proud of, which will only further reassure buyers they are buying into something special.  Many of us sit here spouting how Rooney is something special to sit there week after week, publicly saying he'll not quit, that he'll focus on taking the team forward, keep working hard. That's exactly what fans should do.  We are a big part of the public face of this club from which many will judge us.
I'm sure Rooney sits there behind closed doors swearing and cursing about how things have been handled. But you don't and won't see it. The same should be said of us.

I think it was to cover the rest of last season + 2 years. So to the end of next season.
If Chrissy Kirchner does buy the club then I wouldn't be surprised to see him given a new deal, the "Rooney brand" will likely be something an American owner would hope to tap into and market overseas.

Considering for many years Rooney was mocked how he came across in interviews (and to some extent, still is to this day with the “errmm” comments), I’ve been nothing but impressed with his manner, positivity and the way in which he has conducted himself as our manager in interviews.
We are now seeing the benefit from all the years of experience, he has had handling the media spotlight; so much so, he’s starting to shine with his honesty, integrity and determination to our cause. The jury may still be out for some on his managerial credentials to turn around our fortunes, but he his beyond reproach on his leadership in handling the current situation we are in.
Like you @LeedsCityRam I so hope he’s here and given a decent chance of managing without his hands tied. Some say Cocu had bad luck and never got a fair chance. Rooney has had an even worse stacked deck.
For all his off field antics the media love to trip him up on, as a manager he’s maturing immensely and I’m optimistic all this learning on the job, will be to our benefit next season. He’s no quitter for sure, let’s see if his winning mentality can get us somewhere on a reasonably level playing field to everyone else.

Perhaps we should go, congragate at the player and official enterance from noon, cheer the boys in to show our support, politely express our dissapointment at Mr Gibson, then go to the pub instead of the game.

Still think it would be a beautiful thing if we sold out every away game with extra allocation if offered..
Yet didn't send a single fan to Middlesboro..yeah it would be a sacrifice for some who travel everywhere come what may. .but what a powerful message that would send...

If we can believe reports in the papers Captain Tom will be allowed to leave for free in January. Rooney will have to pick a new captain when he sees which players are still with us. We can debate all day long if Tom was good value for £37,000 a week, but getting that amount off the wage bill could help us keep Knight.

Behind the satire lay a serious point. Mr Gibson is being disingenuous/misleading people if he thinks we seriously denied Boro a legitimate place in the PL. The stats suggest otherwise, but if he thinks his side would have done a better job at Wembley, he is being dishonest & rewriting history. The administrators should argue this case forcefully.
If anything, Mr Gibson is one of the standard bearers for how things are now conducted in the second tier. He got Boro up under Robson by outspending the rest of the division. Money has always counted even before the advent of parachute payments. If I was a Boro supporter, I'd ask what happened to their Academy, which used to churn out players like Downing. A lot of Boro's current woes lie closer to home & they had the benefit of parachute payments. We've become a scapegoat for Mr Gibson's own failings.

There may be, but the admins have gone pretty quiet about the multiple bidders piece and thus far, we only know that Chris is happy to take a punt irrespective of sanctions / relegation. This might be simply because others are working under NDA but until Quantuma confirm as much and we get to see the cut of their jib, Chris remains in pole position in my mind.
I don't really get this whole, 'he's too brash, too American' thing anyway. I think he was simply trying to have the craic with us fans and make sure we knew where his heart is. I'll not be issuing any character judgements based on such limited evidence anyway. He obviously took onboard the criticism in any case as he's dialled things down most recently. I take that as a positive thing, though I concede that others may take more persuading.

Hoping the small number of naysayers will cut CK some slack now. The fact that he's looking to press ahead despite recent events really ought to be heartening and he does seem a genuine guy who is in it for the long-haul. We all need to rally around him and make the guy feel welcome if he does put up as seems very likely.
