Would loved to have seen him having a smoke during the match.
Cant get the picture out of my mind of the dads in the 50/60's leaning on their door frames, fag hanging out, watching the kids playing football in the street. Prob my wierd sense of humour🤣😂🤣

I like this song, first heard it at the time of the march and am surprised it never caught on more. Like it better than Steve Bloomer is watching.

Beating Darlington 5-4 in the League Cup.....1967 I think?
I was stood on the Normanton Terrace. Reg Matthews sneaking a puff of his cigarette whenever he got the chance lol
Would loved to have seen him having a smoke during the match.

1973. Benfica away....0-0. Fantastic day in the pubs of Lisbon in the sun. The game was memorable because the floodlights went out and I was hoping it would get called off so I could come back again the following week lol
My dad was at that game, he is 97 and in a residential home now. Last year we had to sort the house out and found his Benfica pennant in a drawer, its in my drawer now☺

I suspect buying or investors will see how we fair in the championship after going up first. Gut feeling clowes will see a season out in the championship and if we survive then people will start to look at Derby as an investment/buying opportunity
still think Mike Ashley will end up buying Derby at some point. Could have easily brought other clubs and with his business being close maybe makes sense as to why he wants Derby and a chance to keep his Newcastle scarves to save his money
Hope you are joking.

Whoever won that was pretty much sentencing the other to relegation, then they got 2 goals their play didn't really deserve before the fourth. A lot more riding on it.
1968 chelsea cup match.Who could forget night matches at the Baseball ground, smoke swirling round from Leys. It was my first match, we won., loved the rams eversince.

We need the spine of the team with experience. And a few fresh players around the older experienced players.
Remember when Cloughie brought in Dave MacKay people said he was past it. Cloughie put some younger players around him as you never lose the football brain.
75 we we won the league i think we had half the team around 30 years old.
We need experience.
Paul Magrath comes to mind also.

The question is, 'where do we go from here?'
Under DC we will hope to have sustainable growth over the next few years, leading to promotion to the Premier.
However, we football fans are an impatient lot, would we prefer a mega rich foreign owner to come in and take over the club, in the hope that they will buy instant success?
Personally, I hope that DC will be rewarded by us fans with patience, but I wonder if it will be possible in modern day mega bucks football.
I maybe old school, but no way would i want a mega rich foreign owner, but im probably in the minority. If that happened to all the so called big clubs in the championship and league 1 what happens to all the small clubs, prob go out of buisness like we nearly did.

I don’t recall posters being told whether they could post or not, or indeed when they could post. ( apart from the odd do one to the trolls you have already referred to.) I am sure there were a few “get losts” but that is that any different to the “angry words” you refer to. ? It seemed to me like healthy debate with many posters objecting to comments directed at PW, calling him a clown or whatever else. A response in kind that I would describe as anything from: normal debate, a frank exchange of views, a spat or handbags. Bullying ? Really ?
You can’t really chant on a text based forum. There were a number of comments such as get him out of our club though.
I still don’t see where your bullying allegation comes from ? I think the most vociferous of “anti PW” kept banging the same drum to the point that there were reactions that ranged from derision to logical counter argument. I don’t see that as bullying. It’s just not agreeing with someone. The derision was only a counterpoint to the caustic comments posters were making against the manager. If you say something controversial or don’t address the counter argument then you’re going to get push back.
I really don’t understand this attitude that is becoming all too evident these days. It seems to be … I don’t like your stance but I am not going to argue it out with you, instead I am going to stop you arguing with me by attributing some dire character trait to your personality … You’re a bully, Your a lefty / righty or a sexist, a racist or a “phobe” of one sort or another.
Would you like to name the bullies and provide evidence of their bullying ? . If you’re going to post examples I’d like to see the context and what both parties said at the time.
Lets forget all the old arguments and start afresh for the CHAMPIONSHIP after all we are all RAMS.

Sorry, I've come into this conversation late. Are we talking about Brit Vegas again?
In fairness, I bet MM knew more than Maxwell.
Or Chris Kirchner.
He perhaps did, but was not a derby fan allegedly.

Yes, the photographer is looking towards Pride Park. It's as you emerge from the railway tunnel at the bottom of the flight of steps, opposite the Alexandra.
There's a handy ramp down for cyclists who wish to avoid the steps!
My dad is 97, in a residential home. Cant see photos to well, his sight not good. So when the weather is good going to take him in a wheelchair to see it. My dad has got s great sense of humour, and my daughter has told him its that big even he will be able to see it.😊

I'm not sure they did? 🤷♂️
Wasn't it more along the lines of "Please do not go on the pitch before the final whistle".
That's entirely different to your quote, and covers their arses when it comes to thousands breaking the law on their property!
Yes, it was inevitable. No, there was nothing more the club could have done to avoid the invasion. But that still does not make it right or acceptable.
... and as for the atmosphere once they were on the pitch... Embarrassingly non-existent, imo.
If we'd have partied like that back in the '80's, it would have been called a wake! 👀
Children sliding around on the hallowed turf, and grown-ups wandering aimlessly wondering "What happens now". No "scenes". Very little jumping around singing and cheering. No passion. No emotion. I repeat... embarrassing.
To be fair, having a good overview of the proceedings from my seat, I suspect the majority were puffed out after all that exercise! Looked like most of them had never been near a sports pitch before! It was fully expected of course (as a lot of anti-social/selfish behaviour is nowadays!), so it certainly didn't spoil my afternoon, but I still maintain a lap of honour by the players, management, and Mr Clowes... along with their nearest and dearest... would have been much more preferable... especially in front of 25k+ still in the stands.
But much of the stands were nigh on empty within 5 minutes of the final whistle. When the (majority of the ) pitch invaders eventually left the pitch, they weren't miraculously full again, which would imply most had given up, and headed home.
Check out the numbers still there once the trophy was brought out. It was like the raffle results at a village fete!
I gave it 25 mins and then when i couldnt see the cup being given cause there were still fans on the pitch. blocking the view, gave it up as a bad job and went home,so well done to those who got a good view
