Unfortunately the rest of the article puts enough doubt in my mind to not necessarily believe that is true either.

Exactly. An indpendent employment tribunal would have assessed the case on the basis of whether dismissal was within the range of appropriate punishments for someone who is a professional footballer and club captain to get drunk, get into a car (and allegedly not wearing a seat belt?)with another drunk person driving and then  get yourself injured and unable to perform your employed duties for over a year. 
I am in no doubt what an indpendent tribunal would have decided.  The fact that Lawrence and Bennett escaped the punishment of dismissal (possibly for commercial reasons) is irrelevant, the club was within its rights to terminate any or all of their contracts.

No different from our performances at our employment, There's good and bad days, The pressure that are on these players to perform in the circumstances we're in won't come much higher, It's not only a pride in their game but they are there for us aswel, You can overperform which in turn becomes an underperformance.

Being a young gun on the popside in the sixties I loved the songs and camaraderie from that time especially when old Bighead started to get us going. I still sing them, to myself of course, even now.
We were in Division Two then,  of course, and one song particularly suited that time. It was sung to Nat King Cole's 'Daisy Bell',  I am sure many from that era remember it well.
