Wistaston Ram reacted to JJs dms in Derby vs Ipswich (H) Match Thread
Couldn't understand the ground emptying when we knew there would be a big chunk of added time, What happened to we fight till the end? Thought both the fans and the players gave up far to soon

Two next to me have been empty since we came back from Covid, used to belong to a couple of old guys, they were sold match by match earlier in the season, but not now. It will be interesting to see if they go today.

Wistaston Ram reacted to Steve Buckley’s Dog in Derby vs Ipswich (H) Match Thread
It’s more midweek matches that some season ticket holders find it hard to get to. I doubt here will be many unused season tickets today. I just wonder about the amount of segregation there is now compared to what there was.

Wistaston Ram reacted to RedSox in Derby vs Ipswich (H) Match Thread
Can't disagree, sadly. Still, who knows? We might get our groove back on against a footballing side and surprise them - and ourselves! Hope springs eternal. I'm still reassuring myself that at least we have a team to go and support and a manager, who despite some limitations, I've really warmed to as a human being - if not a master tactician. If we fall short this season, so what? With a little leeway from the EFL (😂), we can start to rebuild with players that fit the model Warne wants to play in order to get out of this tinpot division. Tension beginning to build now. 🤞

You're not watching the game then?
No real criticism of anyone first half. Just hope we don't have our usual second half capitulation and/or Warne and the team failing to react to the opposition stepping it up.

Wistaston Ram got a reaction from SKRam in Peterborough United vs Derby County
Last year's game was hard to take, throwing away a win and all the points in injury time. I think only about 1400 of us made the trip for the first post COVID away game and it was an awful drive cross country there and back. The only highlight was Jack Stretton's goal - what ever happened to him? Surely got to be a better day tomorrow!

Strets left for Stockport County in January. Thus far, 7 appearances, no goals.

To Derby County fans of a certain age this man was God, he was our generations Kevin Hector, his name would reverberate around the Baseball Ground for many years, even long after he had left us, it was his goals that dragged us kicking and screaming up the football league, Peter Taylor’s last moment of genius to add to those many legends he had spotted years before with his mate Brian.
Bobby is a super proud man, he still doesn’t understand the cult hero status that he holds in Derby with the fans, I think that it is a sad reflection on football that he is now working as a baggage handler at Leeds airport.
He should be walking around in diamond encrusted shoes, driving his Aston Martin, he has tried numerous years to let back into the club as a coach with the youth team but that became impenetrable under a certain individual and also MM.
He worked at St George’s for the FA for a number of years.
In my eyes he is an absolute legend of Derby County, an absolute idol as a kid, when everybody else had the keegans, dalglshes and Linekers we had Bobby, we might have been in the third division but it didn’t matter !
he never missed those one on ones with the keeper, he got his head in where it hurt and he had that great 80s moustache.
so heres to you Bobby Davison, Derby loves you more than you will know !

Wistaston Ram got a reaction from SKRam in Arthur Cox (no, he's not dead!)
We must be of the same era, probably my favourite Derby manager, not just because my dad shared his first name and looked a bit like him. I suspect if Arthur was ever to be persuaded to come to Pride Park, Roy Mac would be the key. I think it is a shame that this era in Derby's history seems to be overlooked - Take a look at the photo display behind the South Stand, the 80's and early 90s is completely missing, great times for us 50 pluses!

Dragged myself here today, feeling quite rough but fortunately not covid. Hoping I make the full 90 minutes and don't need pulling off at half time.

Wistaston Ram reacted to GangwayD in Arthur Cox (no, he's not dead!)
No apology necessary. I have mentioned on this thread and on numerous occasions, they were the best times, in my teens, early twenties, watching the Rams and following them all over the country. Like in this last season or so, our fan base came together, and we took over towns wherever we went, with Arthurs side fully committed and playing some of the best football of its time.
He always did shun the limelight but Arthur does deserve honouring and I would love nothing more than to see him at Pride Park, rather than something when he's gone. I still feel a statue would be a fantastic tribute, maybe a Cox and McFarland one.
Cheers
Gangway D from the Terrace.

Last time I saw him when I watched Esbjerg play FC Copenhagen a couple of years, they were thrashed 5.1 and unfortunately don't think he lasted much longer after that.

Keep telling myself at least I have a club to watch and that it always takes two seasons to get out of this league, The team's tired. I'm tired, time for bed!

The ref was actually correct (for once) with McGoldrick's booking, following the foul, he played advantage for Shrewsbury and he could only book him once the ball went out of play which did not happen for several minutes.

Wistaston Ram reacted to MadAmster in Hospitality
We did hospitality at Barnsley as it was sold out and we'd already booked flights, hotel etc. Only way we could get tickets. £72 each. No welcome drink. You're supposed to pay for the food as well. They forgot to charge us for the food ? Good day out. 4 of us and 2 DCFC couples in there including @Wistaston Ram and his good lady. The locals were welcoming and the staff were excellent. The result apart we had a good day out.
We're doing FGR as well. Hospitality isn't cheap but it is a good day out. Perfect a couple of times a season.
