ziggyram59 got a reaction from Inverurie Ram in Fans not from Derbyshire...
Born in County Durham today in 1959, moved to Nottingham in 1961 as my Dad was a miner had a neighbour who originally came from Ilkeston who took me to my first Derby match in 1971 under the great Clough and Taylor team and was hooked straight away, I was lucky to see 2 championship winning teams and European night's in the 70's. Then saw the decline in the 80's whilst Forest won the League and European Cup under Clough and Taylor. But even though I've lived in Nottingham since 1961 I could only ever support Derby. Come On You Rams.

Love watching Checo Perez but hate seeing him in a Red Bull car anyone in that team I won't support. You are right about Spa a fantastic track one of my favourites on the calendar. Let's hope Mercedes do a 1/2 today.

I only watched them two bat. Just to confirm it was a load of rubbish, and Du Plooy and Critchley should be scoring runs for Derbyshire tomorrow instead of playing that nonsense.

Hamilton, Bottas, Verstappen, Perez, Gasley, Norris, Leclerc, Ocon, Alonso, Vettel top 10.
So, it's pretty much roles reveresed as Max in a car that's probably not quite as fast as the Merc this weekend will be looking to get a pass done on lap 1.
Hopefully the top three all have a nice chat by a barrier so ma bhoy Checo gets to trundle round for his 3rd win in F1.
I've never really liked this track, but Spa to look forward to next.

ziggyram59 reacted to Highgate in British Lions - I don’t get it
To be honest, the Lions seem like an anachronism to me. Why in a sport, where there are only 9 or 10 competitive teams in the world, do 4 of them (including the country with the more professional rugby union players than any other) join together and tour 1 country? It seems to me, given its available resources, England shouldn't require any assistance against any other individual country.
That's why I think the Lions is a concept long past its sell by date.
Now a Northern Hemisphere vs Southern Hemisphere series every few years would be far more interesting. Given the French and Italians would also be involved, just making the squad would be a bigger achievement for a Northern Hemisphere player, and the challenge posed by the combined Southern Hemisphere team would be immense.
More mischievously, you could also look at removing England altogether, and having a 'Celtic' touring team (which could then also tour England and France).

Can't wait to see this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix, think the track will suit the Red Bull's unfortunately but let's hope Lewis can get a good result fingers crossed.

NEWSFLASH
completely incompetent organisation turn out to be incompetent. The EFL will ruin football in this country… it’s only a matter of time.
what will they do when there’s no clubs left apart from Middlesbrough ran by their pet Gibson (who btw is probably even dodgier than Mel!!)
ps. @Daviddon’t ban me please, it’s my birthday this weekend so I’ve had a few bevvies ?

ziggyram59 reacted to Day in Will Hughes
Came here to post this, you lot are too quick these days.
Possible Newcastle interest has him interested? London way on must get boring after a while with no mushy peas but gellied eels and that weird accent.
Newcastle a proper Northern town and accent, they would love him up there and his hair wouldn’t clash with the shirt.

Hughes and Hendrick in the same midfield again. Think it was 8 million with the add ons. no sell on though?

The Hungary Grand Prix is no unmissable.
If you have watched Drive to Survive on Netflix you will see the animosity between the teams and some drivers, it’s great, to see more of that in the public eye as it happens will only generate more interest.
Not saying we need to see Hamilton and Max try and take each other out each week, but that added spice to the rivalry is great.
Bit like when Clough sticks the knee in on Billy Davies.

Well I love it seen some great games like Trent Rockets last night, they looked like they were well out of it until Ben Stokes dropped that catch of Hales and it suddenly changed. I must admit I love it because I've always been a Notts fan coming from Nottingham, apologies to all Derbyshire fans out there.

That’s fine, it was aimed at people like myself who want to enjoy this without it being mutually exclusive to 20/20.
It’s possible to enjoy this as it’s own entity and just leave the t20 stuff alone. English Cricket on TV for another 20 odd days - what’s not to like. (Weather permitting!)

I don’t support a team which isn’t Derbyshire.
I havent found the format interesting and couldn’t give a toss over who wins or loses.
Personally in cricket terms, I want Derbyshire to do well (generally unlikely) or England (generally likely).

Yes so am I. Call me half a fan or whatever. I don't care. I want to enjoy my hobbies and interests and at the moment I can't see anything to enjoy about Derby County.
