Saw this yesterday and it's pretty jaw-dropping stuff. Warne is the 26th longest serving manager in the English football leagues and Premier League. Just wow..

Just remember. Toward the end of his loan spell we must say how rubbish he is. Cardiff be upping the fee by the game just now.

Good Vlog bar the missing goal and celebration 😉. Ta for that, I always look out for sensible balanced Vlogs from opposition fans as I am constantly fascinated about what the opposition make of us. Like many forums, we can have a post-match discussion between ourselves on here having seen the exact polar opposites in a performance so it's always interesting to look at how we looked from the outside looking in.

Re the feeling that your guys were rather physical. Perhaps we're both kinda right in that maybe they were being urged to be a bit more enthusiastic in the challenge as a response to a perceived previous weakness under Appleton ? Just a thought.

Your comment re dark arts is a really interesting one. Last year there was a bit of a perception that we came unstuck a few times because we were really not good at that aspect and we (and the refs) were 'played' too easily. We were certainly undone a few times buy some pretty cynical tactics with lots of timewasting and play acting but for all that most fans will tell you that they don't like their team doing it, it's difficult to make a case against it when the opposition does it as often as not.

Re not going for the jugular. Our form as been a bit wobbly recently and we have had games where we've created little or nothing in 90 mins so I'd have been surprised if we'd gone all gung ho and tried to double our lead at the end. We have also perhaps been guilty of not managing games very well and we've conceded a few late ones so the caution at the end is perhaps understandable regardless of your recent poor form.

Anyway, welcome to the forum. We're always happy to exchange opinions with reasonable opposition fans 😊

I do hope he finds his way somehow.
Whilst as fans we might discus wasted talent unfulfilled or just we didn't get much out of him second time, and, with hindsight, how much we all think his recall for liverpool was a mistake for all involved. But just on a human level, he clearly had problems and I hope he's got/getting over them and can just play and live as happy person.

Evening Rams, first time poster on here and a Charlton fan with a bit of a soft spot for Derby.
I just wanted to share my thoughts, vlog, and get some ideas for the fast approaching away tie (first visit). Unfortunately, I lived in Nottingham for 3 years and never quite ventured to Derby, only for a solo house viewing once. What's some good spots for away fans and what are the good touristy things that represent your city in a good light, I like to try and capture the place I visit on my vlogs if I can.
Congrats on the win, I didn't think there was much in it, and thought it was a classic away performance, you slowed the game, frustrated us and had a moment of quality on a mistake to seal the 3 points. My thoughts on Warne are, I believe he will get you promoted, whether it's this season or the next, but I think he'd have yous struggling in the championship. I think back to how good yous were in the early 2010s, and it's night and day. I remember a game at the Valley where we won 3-2 but you played liquid football at times, I've seen a few of your fans say the football is negative and hard to get behind, I'm always stuck in two minds if results matter more though overall.
    Anyway here's my vlog:

My uncle Antnony features on here and he's a life long Ram, not sure if he'd be a familiar face.

Always had a soft spot for yous for two reasons, the first being we shared an FA cup final (way before my time of course) and that I actually donned one of your kits when I was younger. It was the away strip from the late 90s, my uncle was trying to convince me to be a Derby fan and bought me it. Funny story is, I ate too much pizza one night and threw up all over it, resulting in it having to be thrown away, a week later I attended the Valley and the rest is history! I was probably one bad pizza party and a trip away from Derby to being a full time Ram haha.

All the best for the season, I hope to see some of yous at Pride Park and look forward to my visit. Good luck in the hunt for promotion, hope yous can do it 👍🏻

Aren't they minor members of the 'Debt Scrubbing' club who can run at a loss with no impact though ? Can probably offer disproportionate wages if so.
*caveat* It may well be that they are not in fact minor members of the 'debt scrubbing' club but after 3 years of total horse**** stated as fact about DCFC by other teams fans that I make no apologies and offer the comment as incontrovertible truth that needs to be absorbed as fact by the whole internet. Oh and they eat babies... and all sorts of other nasty stuff. #gospeltruth

Fair points, it's just the fact he wasn't gonna commit to a new contract. Makes me question how committed he is going to be from now until the end of the season. Really hope he proves me wrong and goes out on a high as he's a player I really like and rate.
A player that in an ideal world we would be building a Championship team around.

They don't though, do they? At least not individually. Collectively, maybe.
But there are plenty of posters a bit undecided about the quality of football and about Warne's tactics at the games. Against Burton, against Lincoln, against Reading. Even against Oxford until we launched a storming fight back.
I'm at nearly every game and there are a fair few of the regulars - the ones who encourage for the full 90 minutes, that stay behind and applaud the team regardless of results - that are still feeling ambivalent about Warne's style in particular and whether he is getting the best out of this set of players.
    That is telling.
I'm not talking about the ones trooping down the stairs making obscene hand gestures at the few players who dared approach the stands to applaud us, I'm talking about the die-hards.

Maybe the odd shot on target over 90 minutes for a start? Quote whatever metrics you like but no shots on target is piss poor in any game and fans actually notice that sort of metric.
It was decent ? Really ? Most people are of the opinion that it was a poor performance with a poor result, giving the ball away cheaply and most players having a collective off day. Warne was correct on with his assessment IMHO. "We weren't aggressive enough, didn't win enough second balls and sometimes you lose matches because the simple basics aren't good enough." . A bad day at the office then. I'd agree with that.
I don't however believe that we have suddenly become a bad side and we need to (and can) get back on track. We are challenged by injuries at the moment but we are better than we showed and I want and expect us to raise our levels for the next one. That was poor though and I see no need to pretend otherwise. I'll be there Saturday as usual and they'll have my full backing as usual and being critical of a particular performance doesn't change that.

I agree. This isn't time for anything less than our best. This lot have actually only scored 9 less than League leaders Portsmouth so we need to be right on it. Hopefully we can score early and general discontent amongst the home fans will do the rest.

Agree with this. "Could have got a draw" and "Deserved a draw" are two very different things. Stats don't always tell the full story but Burton really offered absolutely nothing for 45 mins and the balance of chances and possession was pretty emphatic.

We certainly lost the plot for a bit but it wasn't a reflection of the match as a whole which should have been much more comfortable. I'm not bigging up the performance as a whole because it was very flawed but we did more than enough to have had a comfortable night. The main lesson was that we have to be better at managing the game and not invite teams back into a game.

My chief issue with his rantings are that apparently, being a man makes you understand the men's game better than being a woman. Based on the widely accepted MCHI (Mean Chest Hair Index) a barely professional non-league player who has never played in front of a crowd bigger than the queue at the chippy is (according to Barton) better qualified to talk about top flight men's football football and pressures that come with situations than a woman who has played in front of 80,000 crowds in major tournament finals and all the additional pressure and psychology that goes with that situation. Actually, by Barton's logic, some bloke called Dave who works on the burger van outside the ground knows better than said highly decorated women's international.
The thing is also that his original comment was "Any man who listens to Women commentary or co-comms needs their heads testing…". So he's not even just talking about the supposedly 'expert' technical punditry with detailed analysis of the key events, no, he is seemingly objecting to the idea that women in media are anywhere near the men's game at all in any capacity. In light of this revelation by Mr Barton, perhaps someone could write to DCFC and ask for a discount for our female fans as bless them, they are clearly not properly appreciating what they are watching as their MCHI count is too low and they are probably just thinking about makeup tutorials and what to make for tea for the man in their life and trying to remember where they put his slippers because they are such a silly little scatter brain.
As for his comment about keeping women out of roles in football in case there is some inappropriate interaction. Why does that apply to footballers and not men and women in other workplaces then Joey ? Oh that's right, footballers are special and aren't responsible for their own actions and can't help themselves. Perhaps I should have a word with my bosses and demand that they keep women out of my department in case any of them are overwhelmed with desire on account of me being so attractive and all ? I'm a line manager don't you know !

I think what is slightly disturbing is the sheer intensity of the reaction that you get from a very small minority of men. If I hear a male pundit whose assessment I strongly disagree with, I just roll my eyes and say "Nah, b***ocks" and if its so annoying that I really can't listen to any more then I might switch over until they've gone away and think "What a c***womble". What I don't do is stalk and repeatedly harass them on social media with the most disgusting and distressing threats. These guys seem to reserve that sort of fanatical vitriolic abuse for women and frankly it must be terrifying to be on the receiving end of because you are never completely sure whether it is just some saddo shooting their mouth off from behind the anonymity of their PC, or some absolute fruitloop who is going to turn up at your workplace with a shovel in the boot of their car 😞... all because you are a woman and you thought a goal should have stood.

Noticeable that Warne made a point of mentioning the pitch in his post match interview - didn't seem particularly impressed with it. He said something like "we have to go again on Monday on that pitch/surface" and I'm pretty sure he didn't just mean at home.
