All that means is the press don't know what's going on, let's not conflate that with nothing happening behind the scenes. Let's just wait and see; if this season's taught us one thing, it's that sometimes those who are quick to criticise often wind up eating their words... 👀

Vickers is now on -2.6 goals prevented vs Wildsmith's +0.6. It's the equivalent to us conceding 11 goals more than we already have done if Vickers had played in every game. That's also not taking into account the goal line clearance to help us out by the Cheltenham player.

    No.
Nyambe will be back soon and we won't concede more than another 10 goals all season. Be like a new signing.
Brown will return from his loan a fully formed first team player and lead us to glorious victory with a play-off final hattrick.

First manager I have clear memories of is Nigel Clough, so I’ll start from him. Based on quality of football only, not necessarily results / managerial performance, I’d rank it as the following (only permanent managers included):
    1. Steve McClaren
    2. Frank Lampard
    3. Paul Clement
    4. Phillip Cocu
    5. Nigel Clough
    6. Wayne Rooney
    7. Gary Rowett
    8. Paul Warne
    9. Nigel Pearson
Nobody will ever beat the sheer incompetence of Nigel Pearson who is arguably the worst manager to ever sit in the Pride Park dugout. With the talent he had available, how he managed to deliver such woeful performances I will never know.
But Paul Warne is the one who’s come closest in my opinion. I’ve always compared him to Rowett, in terms of being a dislikeable man who plays terrible, but effective football. Only Warne’s football isn’t effective enough, given the level he’s managing at and the quality of players at his disposal, so he falls below Rowett in my rankings.
In my view Paul Warne has the easiest job of any Derby manager in my lifetime. Getting a squad with this much quality promoted from such a poor league should be something any idiot could manage. But he seems to be making a mess of it so far.

Depends on context clearly but based on ones since I started going regularly:
    1. McClaren
    2. Lampard
    3. Wassall
    4. Rosenior
    5. Rowett
    6. Cocu
    7. Rooney
    8. Warne
    9. Clough
    10. Jewell
    11. Pearson
Forgot Clement and can’t be bothered to change the numbers so he can go between Warne and Clough. Mostly highlights what a grim time it’s been.

It'll be Korey Smith the player leaving. He's been fit for a while now and not making the matchday squads.

Since Warne insists on a front 2, even with only 1 fit CF in the squad, the answer seems predictable

On Tuesday, the positioning of Hourihane and Bird was the issue. They're occupying the same space.

Whittaker's advantage was his brain and technical ability. It was his lack of physicality that meant he struggled with the step up, just as he had done stepping up from the U18s to the U21s. The biggest problem he had was having a manager who didn't understand what type of player he was and ddin't have the patience to develop him.
With Brown, it's not a case of him being a stronger/faster playing at youth level and now he's coming up against strogner/faster defenders... He's just not mentally ready to play for our first team. It's sort of a mental block of beliving that he is capable of playing in League 1 at this moment in time. Cashin has talked about similar issues when he was thrown in the first team - he didn't think he deserved to be in the team and was just there becuase we had no one else. Luke Thomas went over to the wrong wing on his debut becasue of nerves.

I don’t like him as a manager, I don’t like the way that his football is often being played, resulting in us continually giving the ball to the opposition to play with; it drives me nuts.

When we play football and retain possession, we are a much better side. We are capable of that but we don’t see it enough.

I am not critical of him taking the job, but tactically he is outdone by others too many times. I am baffled by the decision of our sole owner to offer the job to him.

Warne opted to use Mendez-Laing in the middle rather than playing John-Jules there. What hope does an academy player have?

Absolutely embarrassing, shambolic performance. Warne needs to come out and apologise for whatever that shower of **** that was. What the hell did he say at half time? We came out worse. Easily one of the worst games under Warne. Diabolical.

I'm calling to sack Warne. He's obviously got no idea how to extract consistent performances out of this squad and either thinks the way we play is fine, or he doesn't know how to change it. Not sure which of those options is more concerning to be honest.
Even on our great run of form we only ever looked truly convincing a few times. Performances have, in the main, been rubbish for a majority of the season.

Embrassing. This team won’t even make top 6. Results are now matching our poor performances.
