Jubbs got a reaction from RoyMac5 in Mowbray sacked
If we get rid of Warne this season, get this man in straight away.

Would love to see Prograis quieten Haney down. Haney was beat fair and square by Loma last time out IMO, only for yet another corrupt judging panel to award him the win. Sadly, I think Haney will win this weekend.

Jubbs reacted to Ghost of Clough in Derby vs Port Vale
To be fair, Bris didn't say it was not using xG which resulted in us being where we are, but the lack of statistics in general. If we got recruitment (managere and players) right, we wouldn't have wasted 10s of millions on players who didn't improve us or weren't even suited to our style of play. We wouldn't have had to use unusually practices to avoid P&S punishment, and Mel wouldn't have wasted as much money chasing the PL dream. We would have had a greater chance of promotion and would more likely be where Brighton/Brentford are now than sitting in League 1.

God what a tedious last couple of pages.
xG useless without context, shots on target useless without context. It’s almost like any stat is useless without context. Mad.

You're just reiterating what I was saying?
xG is just a nothingness stat that doesn't mean anything.

It doesn't rely on stats, but it's a good way to judge performance, which makes it a useful way to build a discussion. It's about the performances on the field, if we get that right then the data will reflect. It's what we all want!

Yep, These are some tough lasses! Made me wince at times to be honest, but then so did the first fight when Taylor in particular took a lot of hard shots. Sensibly she went a bit more mobile and fought her own fight this time around. I say 'a bit', as there was more than enough toe-to-toe all the same!
Only caught highlights and tbh, not seen a lot of Benavidez, but wow, that looked a wild old fight! He has some tools and looks a spiteful puncher, but he also looked reckless at times. Canelo has to be next you'd think, but like you, I'd have the Mexican winning that and IMO, pretty comfortably. The fight is apparently already agreed apparently.

Just me who enjoyed yesterday then? I actually also thought we played very well in spells. Some last ditch defending in the first half but other than that we were totally in control

Jubbs reacted to Ghost of Clough in January Reinforcements
Quite a few players at Championship clubs not getting much game time. A few of the better (and younger) options being:
LCB - if Cashin leaves
Caleb Taylor - 20 years old, West Brom
Left wing back - if 3/5 at the back
Sam McCallum - 23 years old, Norwich (out of contract in the summer)
Nathanael Ogbeta - 22 years old, Swansea (out of contract in the summer)
Wingers - assuming 4231
Wanya Marçal - 21 years old, Leicester
Borja Sainz - 22 years old, Norwich
Malik Wilks - 24 years old, Sheff Weds
Forward
Reyes Cleary - 19 years old, West Brom (out of contract in the summer)

Jubbs reacted to Ghost of Clough in Warne Out Out
I don't believe any of them to be 'true'
1. I can criticise a manager (or player) but still support the team on matchday
2. I highly doubt Clowes doesn't have a contingency plan in case he felt he needed to sack any member of staff
3. We're "in this mess" because our former owner agreed to spend more than he could actually afford. If we had changed managers just as often, but with a style of play in mind and a sensible budget, we wouldn't have gone into administration.
4. A manager willing to look at the long term picture by recruiting accordingly and introducing academy prospects is looking at the long term picture.

1.) Fans respond to the football that is served up. They'll get behind the team if the team gives them something to cheer about, it's the same for all clubs.
2.) I'd love to see your numbers to back this up.
3.) Mistakes in the past don't necessarily equate to future mistakes. Sticking with a manager purely because we should have stuck with managers in the past would be daft.
4.) Why is it? We have one of the biggest budgets in the league and a squad that should be able to compete with any in this division. That's just your opinion. We're building back up sure, but why do we have to just accept it'll take a huge amount of time, we're entirely placed to be competitive.

Hardly a priority we have Ward, Wilson, Foz, Elder and Nyambe.

Just the type of winger we need. A 28 year old who has only scored more than 2 goals in a season twice

Jubbs got a reaction from Carl Sagan in Ali Al-Hamadi - Signed for Ipswich Town
Not sure about this one. Considering we had him on trial (he scored a penalty in his only game), we clearly made a mistake not offering him a deal if we were to then buy him for £1m+ a couple of years later.

No shocks here, great manager and still young. Clowes made a huge mistake getting rid.

So you think biased media is only a new thing? If anything, nowadays everyone has an wide range of access to different views and it's easier to find the full story than it ever has been.
Mental illness has always been a thing, it's just more publicised now and easier to get help as it's not as taboo as it has been in the past.
