Mowbray sacked

Sunderland have got rid of their manager with their club only 3 points off a playoff place - we're in the top six with games in hand on the 2 teams immediately above us.

Context.

Sunderland are in a much more competitive league. They surprisingly have a bottom eight wage budget for the Championship and one of the youngest squads.

Mowbray was doing an excellent job.

I’d have him over Warne all day long. 100%.

I think the point is that us sacking Warne would make us more stupid than Sunderland.

There is also the very valid point that every day we don't sack Warne, it winds half a dozen posters up on here to the point that the whole nonsense runs across thread after thread.

Then I get to use this...trollspray.jpg.212d5583aee00b89ee357fc3793dd8ce.jpg

You've completely missed my point. I rate Mowbray but think given our current position we'd be making a mistake if there was a possibility of getting rid of Warne.

Mel Morris attitude and why we are where we are today. There is always someone who has a better record, doesn't mean it's what's best for the club though.

How would trading Warne for Mowbray be a Mel Morris attitude? The reason we are where we are is because Mel racked up the debts with atrocious recruitment. Mowbray is renowned for buying young players with potential, working with young players and players then leaving for profits. The complete opposite of Mel’s scattergun policy.

Warne was always a short-term option to get out of League One. He is struggling with that.

Warne has shown nothing to be considered a sound long-term option.

Why is Warne struggling ? He is well placed to gain promotion. Bringing another manager is would mean they would then change the philosophy of the club and another change of personnel, scatter fun approach.

If you change manager everytime you think a better one comes along, that's a Mel Morris approach.

It’s literally exactly what Morris did the Clement. Well placed in the playoffs, but a boring style of play, sacked. The point is, if we’re laughing at Sunderland for being stupid for sacking a manager when they’re just outside the playoffs, how stupid would we be for sacking a man anger when we’re actually in the play offs.

Mel panicked when results weren't as smooth as he had hoped, barged into the changing room and undermined Clement, then results spiralled out of control. He then waited until the end of the season before hiring a permanent manager. Hardly the same as sacking a manager for a better manager, is is being implied here.

Warne is struggling because we aren’t in the top two. The playoffs aren’t a given and there is no consolation for getting there and losing in them.

This league is bereft of quality. And if we don’t get promoted this season, Warne should be gone IF options like Mowbray are still available.
